In January-October 2023, Zhydachiv Pulp and Paper Mill (ZhPPM, Lviv region) produced products worth UAH 444.6 million, up 7.6% year-on-year.
According to statistics provided to Interfax-Ukraine by UkrPapir Association, in physical terms, corrugated packaging output increased by 21.2% to 19.2 million square meters, containerboard by almost 27% to 13.5 thousand tons, and paper by 11% to 3.7 thousand tons.
In particular, in October, the plant increased production of paper and cardboard by 66.4% to 1.8 thousand tons by October 2022, and corrugated packaging by 54.6% to 2.3 million square meters. Compared to September this year, paper and cardboard production increased by 15.4%, and corrugated packaging by 23%.
Zhytomyr Pulp and Paper Mill has a paper production capacity of 43 thousand tons per year (base paper for corrugation, linerboard, cover paper), cardboard production capacity of 50 thousand tons, corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging capacity of 120 million square meters, and injection molded containers (tray for 30 eggs) capacity of 72 million units per year.
As reported with reference to the association’s data obtained from the main industry enterprises, over ten months in Ukraine, there was an increase in the production of paper and cardboard by 11.4% (up to 454.9 thousand tons), cardboard boxes – by 18.1% (up to 428.7 million square meters).
In 2022, Zhydachiv Pulp and Paper Mill produced goods worth UAH 510.8 million, up 23.1% year-on-year, with net profit increasing by 67.5% to UAH 41.76 million.
In January-May the Zhidachevsk Pulp and Paper Mill (ZhPPM, Lviv region) manufactured goods for 234.31 mln UAH, which is 18.1% more than in the first five months of 2022.
According to statistical data provided to Interfax-Ukraine agency by UkrPapir Association, the output of corrugated board packaging increased by 34.2% to 9.3 mln. sq. m, packaging cardboard – by almost 38% to 6.7 thousand tons, paper – by 37.3% to 1.8 thousand tons.
In May, the company increased the output of paper and cardboard output by 14.4% to 1.85 thousand tons, corrugated board output by 1% to 2 million square meters. Compared to April this year, the output increased by 11.2% and 8.2%, respectively.

As reported with reference to the association, received from the industry enterprises, in January-May 2023, they produced a total of 218.6 tons of paper and cardboard (12% more), and 197.3 million square meters of cardboard boxes (+21.4%).
In 2022, Zhidachev PPM produced 510.8 mln UAH in marketable goods, which is 23.1% more than a year earlier, net profit increased by 67.5% to 41.76 mln UAH.
The Zhydachiv Pulp and Paper Mill (ZhPPM, Lviv Region) produced UAH 94.1 million worth of products in January-February, 57.9% more than in the same two months of 2022.
According to the statistical data provided to Interfax-Ukraine by UkrPapir Association, the output of corrugated packaging more than doubled in volume terms, reaching 3.5 mln sq.m.
In addition, the mill released 2.35 tons of packaging board (2.1 times more) and 0.72 tons of paper (55.4% more).

As reported, this year the mill has begun production of a new type of office paper for graphic purposes from recycled waste paper.
As reported with reference to the Association, in January-February, the total production of paper and paperboard in Ukraine by major enterprises of the industry declined by 15% to the same period almost prewar 2022 – to 87.31 thousand tons, and cardboard boxes – only by 0.6%, to 78.5 million square meters.
In 2022 Zhidachev PPM produced marketable products worth 510.8 million UAH, which is 23.1% more than a year earlier, and Izmail PPM – 235.7 million UAH (2.6% less).
The Zhidachevsk Pulp and Paper Mill (ZhCPPM, Lviv region), produced UAH 44.35 million worth of products in January, which is 93.8% more than in January 2022.

In addition, the mill released 890 tons of containerboard and 359 tons of paper, which in January last year was not produced.

Zhydachiv Pulp and Paper Mill (ZhPPM, Lviv region), which is part of Osnova Holding, increased its output by 23.6% in January-November 2022 compared to the same period of 2021, to UAH 463.5 million.
According to the statistic data given to “Interfax-Ukraine” agency by association “UkrPapir”, thus for 11 months the plant managed to increase this index in comparison with the rate of production increase of the similar period of last year (for 10 months of 2022 it was 21.7% to January-October 2021).
The production of corrugated cardboard boxes is keeping a stable positive dynamics, having increased by 33,7% – up to 17,8 mln. sq. m. Production of containerboard (including corrugated paper) decreased by 13.8% – to 11.8 thousand tons.
At the same time, there was a significant reduction in paper output – down 39.5% to 3,700 tons.
As reported with reference to the Association, in January-November, the total production of paper and cardboard in Ukraine decreased by almost 44% compared to the same period last year – up to 459 tons, corrugated board – by 41.4%, to 404.3 million square meters.
At the same time, the largest Ukrainian producer of corrugated packaging – Rubizhne CPC received damage as a result of Russian aggression and stopped, but its subsidiary in the Kiev region – Tripol packing plant continues to work. According to UkrPapir, over 11 months it produced 1.99 billion UAH worth of products, and corrugated packaging produced 114 million square meters (the second figure after the Kiev KBK).
ZHBK suspended production with the start of the Russian military invasion, but production was resumed in March.
According to the Association, another plant within the Osnova holding, the Izmail Pulp and Paperboard Mill (Odessa region), increased its output by 1% to 213 mln hryvnias in January-November. In volume production of containerboard decreased by 35.9% to 7 thousand tons, corrugated packaging decreased by 43.5% to 10.8 million square meters.
In January-October 2022, the Zhidachevsk Paper and Pulp Mill (ZhPPM, Lviv region), which is part of the Osnova holding, increased its output by 21.7% compared to the same period of 2021 – up to UAH 413.38 million.
According to the statistic data given to “Interfax-Ukraine” agency by association “UkrPapir”, thus, according to the results of 10 months the rate of increase of this index to the similar period of last year slowed down a little bit (in nine months it was 23.2%, in eight – 30%).
The production of corrugated cardboard boxes in physical terms remains a stable positive trend, having increased by 29.5% – to 15.9 million square meters. At the same time the production of containerboard (including corrugated paper) decreased by 15.5% – to 10.7 thousand tons.
At the same time, there was a significant reduction in paper output – down 42% to 3,35 thousand tons.
As reported with reference to the Association, in January-October, the total production of paper and cardboard in Ukraine decreased by 44% compared to the same period last year – up to 415.8 thousand tons, corrugated board – by 41.5%, to 364.2 million square meters.
At the same time, Ukraine’s largest corrugated packaging manufacturer – Rubizhansky KTK received damage and stopped, but its subsidiary in the Kiev region – Trypolsky packaging plant continues to work. According to “UkrPapir”, over the 10 months it produced 1.78 billion UAH, and corrugated packaging made 102.4 million square meters (the second figure after the Kiev KBC).
ZhCBK had suspended production since the start of Russia’s military aggression, but production was resumed in March.
According to the Association, another plant within the Osnova holding, the Izmail Pulp and Paperboard Mill (Odessa region), increased its output by 3.6%, to UAH 190.8 mln in January-October. In volume terms, the production of containerboard decreased by 35.4% to 6.3 thousand tons, corrugated board by 43.8% to 9.7 million square meters.
