The concept of emotional banking will develop in Ukraine in the near future, enabling customers to be involved in significant initiatives and charitable projects. This opinion was expressed by Volodymyr Mudryi, Chairman of the Management Board of OTP Bank, during his participation in the panel discussion “Future of Banking” at the annual conference UAFIN.TECH 2023, which took place in Kyiv.
“Banking business has already become something commonplace, so the concept of emotional banking will continue to develop. An important task for banks will be to create and develop a platform that will give customers the opportunity to participate in social and charitable projects. At the same time, a possible breakthrough in fundraising can become a tool for attracting investment in business and accumulating resources for important goals for the country, even before the stock market is launched,” added V. Mudryi.
As an example of attracting customers to charity through emotional banking, he cited the Christmas auction held by OTP Bank in favor of the Superhumans Center in the OTP Bank UA app. All funds raised from the sale of lots will be transferred to prosthetics for defenders who lost their limbs in the war and need comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation.
Another important step in the future, according to the Chairman of the Board of OTP Bank, will be the launch of the digital hryvnia in the country, which can become one of the most effective tools in the fight against corruption. “Why should the digital hryvnia appear? In my opinion, as a banker, it can be the ‘pill’ that will cure corruption. I believe that the e-hryvnia is one of the most effective mechanisms in public procurement against corruption,” said Mr. Mudry.
According to the banker, the National Bank is currently considering and working on possible options for using the electronic hryvnia.
