KYIV. Sept 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PJSC Ukrhydroenergo has signed a contract with PJSC Turboatom (Kharkiv) for the modernization, delivery and installation of equipment worth UAH 92 million.
According to a press release of Ukrhydroenergo, Turboatom will modernize hydro turbine equipment and will take part in the commissioning hydro unit No. 1 at Kakhovska hydro power plant.
The implementation of the contract is planned for 2017-2018.
The press release notes that Turboatom designed, manufactured and installed 99 hydro turbines at Ukrhydroenergo hydroelectric power stations, including three most powerful turbine pumps in Europe with a capacity of 410.23 MW for hydroelectric units Nos. 1-3 at Dnistrovska hydroelectric pumped storage power plant.
“With the aim of extending the service life by 30-40 years, increasing the capacity, electricity generation and operating reliability, Ukrhydroenergo continues to cooperate with Turboatom, implementing projects for the reconstruction of power units at hydroelectric power stations of the Dnipro and Dniester cascades,” the press service said citing Ukrhydroenergo CEO Ihor Syrota.
Turboatom is the only producer of turbine equipment for hydro, thermal and nuclear power plants in Ukraine. The geography of the company’s supplies covers 45 countries in Europe, Asia, America, and Africa. The state owns more than 75% of the company’s shares.
