Enterprises of the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine formed a record stock of more than 260 thousand cubic meters of fuelwood on the territory of Ukraine, the head of the agency Yuriy Bolokhovets said on Facebook.
According to him, the volume of firewood harvested is also kept at record levels and far exceeds their sales. So, another 314 thousand cubic meters of firewood is provided for December.
Bolokhovets noted that the State Forestry Agency supplies firewood to the eastern and southern frontline regions, large volumes of fuel are transferred to the military.
“The situation in the Ukrainian energy sector is very tense. The worst scenarios cannot be ruled out. But the country is provided with firewood. Forest farms this year made every effort to ensure that the Ukrainians were with heat,” – summed up the head of the department in the message.
As reported, the Government of Ukraine continues the procurement and sale of firewood for the Ukrainians – until the end of 2022 forestry farms plan to sell 1.1 million cubic meters of firewood within the country. Since the beginning of the year has already sold 2.44 million cubic meters. m of wood, and its stock in mid-November amounted to about 187 thousand cubic meters.
