Unified platform for providing wheeled vehicles to Armed Forces of Ukraine has been launched

9 March , 2023

On Thursday, at a press conference at the Kyiv City State Administration, the Heroicar project presented a unified platform for providing wheeled vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The event was attended by veterans of the volunteer battalion of the Azov Army, the head of the Heroicar project, representatives of the Women of Steel organization, and Akhtem Seitablaev, a well-known film director and project ambassador.

When discussing the supply of vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the experts emphasized the importance of constantly replenishing the military with working wheeled vehicles and concluded that creating a centralized system for the supply and maintenance of vehicles in the context of public-private partnerships is the most effective way to solve the problem.

“Last year, more than 60,000 vehicles were imported to Ukraine for the needs of the Armed Forces. The average service life of wheeled vehicles in war is 2-9 weeks. We need to send vehicles to the frontline constantly. This is the key to our victory. But it is not enough to supply vehicles to the military. They also need to be serviced and repaired in a timely manner. We need to check the needs of the military for these vehicles. In the old days, Cossacks used to have horses, but today these horses have become steel, just like our Cossacks who are fighting for their freedom,” said Oleg Petrenko, a veteran of the AZOV volunteer battalion and coordinator of the Support AZOV charity foundation.

“We have created a unified national platform for the supply of vehicles for the Armed Forces. As part of this platform, we collect applications for wheeled vehicles, verify them with the Armed Forces, purchase the vehicles that are needed at the front, bring them to the required technical condition for operation at the front, deliver them to the Armed Forces and carry out maintenance together with our partners. The main task is to make the whole process as transparent and efficient as possible for the benefit of our military. We have established deliveries of vehicles from the US, Europe and Korea and can provide the Armed Forces with any kind of transport, but right now there is a need for pickup trucks. That is why we are supplying Ford F-250 and Ford F-350. These are very powerful frame trucks with a 6-liter diesel engine. Any man-portable air defense system or machine gun can be mounted on such a pickup. The body capacity of the first model is 1.5-1.8 tons, the second – up to 2.5 tons. Some of the vehicles we have sent to the front line have already been equipped with full-fledged anti-aircraft systems that weigh 2.2 tons. The vehicle works perfectly and performs its tasks,” said Oleksandr Pugach, Project Manager of the Heroicar project.

Within the platform, any military or civilian can apply for a vehicle. The application will then be verified by the Armed Forces and the fundraising process will begin. Within 30 days of completion, the car will be at the front. The project also takes care of the maintenance of the vehicles, including repairs and technical inspections. Each vehicle has a plate on the dashboard with a phone number to call for all technical issues.

Heroicar has already delivered 19 vehicles as part of the “Guardians of the Sky” project – mobile air defense fire teams that use machine guns and man-portable air defense systems to hunt drones and missiles that protect the skies in central Ukraine and Kyiv. 3 vehicles are operating in eastern Ukraine. Another 10 vehicles are on the way. We have also delivered 4 Volkswagen T4 buses for cargo transportation. Now we are delivering vehicles to various brigades of the Azov regiment and to military units on the front line. HeroCar is already accepting applications from the military.
“I am the wife and sister of a defender. I have three brothers – in captivity, in the sky and at the border. I know that vehicles on the front line are a consumable that is vital for our defenders. That is why I am appealing to everyone to help buy pickup trucks for the 93rd Kholodny Yar Brigade, which is in the middle of hell today. They are defending Bakhmut. They need to remain mobile and highly effective in the fight against the enemy,” said Sofia Cherepanova, a representative of Women of Steel.
This application, along with others, has already been posted on the HeroCar platform.

To support our military, Hero Car has launched a large-scale campaign. The vehicles that will soon be sent to the front, along with those that have already been through the war, can be seen near the Kyiv City State Administration and in 5 other shopping centers in Kyiv. Near the vehicles, you can meet Azov soldiers who can talk to you personally and learn firsthand about the need for wheeled vehicles. And for a donation to the vehicles for the military, you can get a unique sticker pack.

Get involved. Together, the path to victory will be shorter.
