Trypillia Packaging Plant accelerates corrugated packaging output growth to 12% in January

Trypillia Packaging Plant (TUP, Ukrainka, Kyiv region), a subsidiary of Rubizhne Cardboard and Packaging Plant, which has stopped operations in Luhansk region, increased corrugated packaging output by 12.3% in January-February compared to the same period in 2023, to 25.8 million square meters.

According to statistics provided to Interfax-Ukraine by UkrPapir Association, the mill accelerated the growth rate of corrugated packaging output, which in January was 5% compared to January 2023.

In February, TUK increased its corrugated packaging production by 21% year-on-year.

The plant consistently ranks second in corrugated packaging production after Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill (33.4 million square meters).

Due to the growth in corrugated packaging production, the plant has achieved a positive production growth in monetary terms over the past two months, producing UAH 435.35 million worth of products (up 0.1%), while in January the decline was 6.6%.

As reported, the major companies in the industry, which provided data to UkrPapir, increased production of cardboard boxes by 12.3% to 87.3 million square meters in January-February.

As reported, before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Rubizhne Pulp and Paper Mill, together with TUK, were the leading corrugated packaging producers in Ukraine.

After the destruction, the plant in Rubizhne shut down, and the legal entity Rubizhne CTC was re-registered in Kyiv.

TUC produces a wide range of corrugated cardboard products for food, industrial goods and chemicals. Among its customers are Roshen, Coca-Cola, MHP agricultural holding, and Lactalis Group.

In 2023, Trypillia Paper Mill increased its sales volume by 13.7% compared to 2022, to UAH 2 billion 480 million, while corrugated packaging production increased by 17.9% to 145.8 million square meters.

“Poninkovskaya KBF-Ukraine” increased corrugated packaging production by 20% in January

In January, Poninkivska Cardboard and Paper Mill-Ukraine (PCPM-Ukraine, Khmelnytsky region), a major Ukrainian corrugated cardboard producer, increased its corrugated packaging output by 20% compared to January 2023, to 6.85 million square meters.

According to Ukrpapir Association statistics provided to Interfax-Ukraine, the plant continues to be one of the top three producers of corrugated packaging after Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill and Trypillia Packaging Mill.

Last month, the plant also increased production of containerboard by 19.1% to 7.5 thousand tons, and produced 0.08 thousand tons of paper against 0.04 thousand tons a year earlier.

As reported with reference to the data collected by the association from the main enterprises of the industry (since the State Statistics Service stopped providing such data in 2019), in January 2024, the production of paper and cardboard in Ukraine decreased by 7.8% compared to January 2023 – to 53.9 thousand tons, while the production of cardboard boxes increased by 11.3%, to 43.4 million square meters.

In monetary terms, in January, PCBF-Ukraine produced products worth UAH 233.75 million, up 6%.

Poninkivska Paper Mill (formerly Poninkiv Cardboard and Paper Mill), once the largest producer of school notebooks, now has one main production line – paper and cardboard, producing mainly corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging, as well as wrapping and waste paper.

The plant is part of the United Cardboard Company-Ukraine (UCC, Lutsk) owned by businessman Mykola Lobov, whose production assets include, among others, Lutsk KBF-Ukraine (Volyn region), which produced 5.4 thousand tons of various cardboard (up 7.5%) and 3.2 million square meters of corrugated boxes in January (according to Ukrpapir).

As reported, in 2023, PCBF-Ukraine produced almost UAH 2 billion 450 million worth of cardboard, up 3% year-on-year.

“Poninkivska CPPF-Ukraine increased corrugated packaging production by more than quarter

In January-October, Poninkivska Cardboard and Paper Mill-Ukraine (PCPF-Ukraine, Khmelnytsky region), a major Ukrainian corrugated cardboard producer, increased its corrugated packaging output by 25.3% compared to the same period in 2022, to 71.2 million square meters.

According to Ukrpapir Association statistics provided to Interfax-Ukraine, the mill continues to be among the top three producers of this product after Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill and Trypillia Packaging Plant.

According to statistics, over the past ten months, the mill’s paper production also increased by 29% to 0.65 thousand tons and its containerboard production by 9.2% to 93.9 thousand tons.

At the same time, in October, production of corrugated boxes at PCBF-Ukraine increased by 30% to 7.8 million square meters by October 2022, and paper and cardboard production by 22.5% to 7.2 thousand tons.

In monetary terms, in January-October, PCBF-Ukraine produced more than UAH 962 million worth of products, up 8.8% year-on-year.

As reported with reference to the data collected by the association from the main enterprises of the industry, over ten months in Ukraine, there was an increase in the production of paper and cardboard by 11.4% (to 454.9 thousand tons), and cardboard boxes – by 18.1% (to 428.7 million square meters).

The plant is part of the United Cardboard Company-Ukraine (UCC, Lutsk) owned by businessman Mykola Lobov, whose production assets include, among others, Lutsk KPF-Ukraine (Volyn region), which produced 54.3 thousand tons of various cardboard (31% more) and almost 10 million square meters of corrugated boxes in January-October (according to Ukrpapir).

As reported, in 2022, PCPF-Ukraine produced products worth UAH 2 billion 446 million, up 6.5% year-on-year.

RUBIZHNE CARDBOARD PACKAGING MILL IN LUHANSK REGION PRODUCES 81.05 MLN SQ METERS OF CORRUGATED BOXES

Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill in Luhansk region, one of Ukraine’s largest cardboard packaging producers, produced 81.05 million square meters of corrugated cardboard boxes in January-April 2019, including goods from its Trypilsky packaging plant, which is 2.6% up year-over-year.
The UkrPapir association said that the mills decreased production of components of corrugated cardboard (cardboard and fluting) by 22.3%, to 76,000 tonnes.
The total commodity amount produced by both plants in the period in monetary terms fell by 12.8%, to UAH 1.565 billion.
According to UkrPapir association, cardboard packaging production in Ukraine in January-March 2019 fell by 3.6% and amounted to 319.8 million square meters.
The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill has worked on the packaging market since 1991, and specializes in the production of components for corrugated cardboard (cardboard and fluting) and corrugated cardboard boxes.
Its most important customers are large confectioneries, juice and tobacco producers.
The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill acquired Trypilsky packaging plant in 2002 and subsequently began producing corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging.

RUBIZHNE CARDBOARD PACKAGING MILL SEES 14.5% RISE IN OUTPUT

Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill in Luhansk region, one of Ukraine’s largest cardboard packaging producers, produced 188.62 million square meters of corrugated cardboard boxes in January-September 2018, including goods from its Trypilsky packaging plant, which is 14.5% up year-over-year. The mills increased production of components of corrugated cardboard (cardboard and fluting) by 4.4%, to 219,210 tonnes.
The total commodity amount produced by both plants in the period in monetary terms grew by 30.6%, to UAH 4.138 billion. According to UkrPapir association, cardboard packaging production in Ukraine in January-September 2018 grew by 1.2% and amounted to 748.29 million square meters.
The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill has worked on the packaging market since 1991, and specializes in the production of components for corrugated cardboard (cardboard and fluting) and corrugated cardboard boxes. Its most important customers are large confectioneries, juice and tobacco producers. The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill acquired Trypilsky packaging plant in 2002 and subsequently began producing corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging.
