The European Union and Ukraine are expected to sign a security agreement on June 26, Deutsche Welle reports, citing a senior EU official.
At a briefing in Brussels on Friday, the official said that the parties have already agreed on the text of the agreement, which took several months. According to the official, the document is expected to be signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on June 26. The agreement covers not only military assistance to Kyiv, but also financial support, European integration, and other areas of cooperation.
It is also expected that on June 24, the EU foreign ministers will officially approve the 14th package of sanctions against Russia for its aggression against Ukraine at the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg.
