BORYSPIL AIRPORT SEES 16% RISE IN PASSENGER FLOW IN JAN-OCT

KYIV. Nov 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv), the largest airport in the country, in January-October 2016 increased its passenger traffic by 16% year-over-year and 23% from January-October 2014, compared to the same period of 2015, to 7.264 million people.

The press service of the airport reported that the number of transit passengers over the period grew to 1.899 million (47% up year-over-year).

In October 2016, the airport serviced 797,400 passengers (20% up on October 2015 and 42% up on October 2014).

“One of the key factors of the indicators’ growth was development of the basic airline of the Boryspil airport – UIA. It is a driver of the airport’s growth,” the airport said.

In 2016, the airport seeks to service over 8.4 million passengers. Passenger flow would be increased by 15.4% compared to 2015.

Boryspil airport services over 68% of passenger transportation in Ukraine. It is the only airport in the country servicing long-haul flights. Over 50 airlines fly from the airport on more than 100 routes worldwide.
