The National Bank of Ukraine fined BBC Insurance (Kyiv) UAH 892,500 for violating consumer protection laws for financial services.
According to the NBU website, violations of the requirements set forth in the Civil Code of Ukraine and the laws “On Electronic Commerce,” “On Insurance,” and “On Financial Services and Financial Companies” were identified during an inspection.
The company also received a written warning for violating the requirements for regulating the activities of participants in the non-bank financial services market, which it is required to remedy by January 30, 2026.
In addition, for violations identified during the inspection regarding the submission of a reporting file with inaccurate indicators for the first quarter of 2025 to the regulator, PJSC IC “InterExpress” (Kyiv) was subject to a penalty in the amount of UAH 1.6 million.
Both insurance companies are required to pay the fine within one month from the date these decisions come into force.
As noted by the NBU, such decisions were adopted by the Committee for Supervision and Regulation of Non-Bank Financial Services Markets on August 25, 2025, based on the results of a scheduled inspection of IC “BBS Insurance” and an unscheduled inspection of IC “InterExpress” conducted by the central bank’s inspection department.
BBS Insurance (formerly Brokbusiness Insurance) has been operating in the Ukrainian insurance market for over 25 years and is represented in all regions of the country.
InterExpress Insurance was registered in 2004 and specializes in risk insurance.
