Auchan Ukraine Hypermarket LLC (Auchan Retail Ukraine, Kyiv), part of the French holding Auchan, plans to increase the share of online sales to 15% and expand e-commerce to all regions of Ukraine.
“We set ambitious plans to eventually reach a 15% indicator of sales outside bricks-and-mortar stores. We are moving towards this goal. Today, we have achieved profitability and continue to actively expand this direction,” Auchan Sales Director Natalia Pylypenko said during an online broadcasting entitled “Phygital and Operations During Lockdown” on Tuesday.
According to her, Auchan plans to develop the network mainly in the cities of presence, opening new stores in the proximity format, including a pick up point format, as well as expand e-commerce.
“We want to scale the existing digital projects and cover them the entire Ukraine, so that even where we cannot open Auchan stores in the near future, people can order goods and get them,” Pylypenko said.
As reported, in January 2020, Auchan opened the first ultra-proximity Auchan Pick Up Point in Kyiv, which is the smallest in the retailer’s network (40 square meters).
Auchan Retail is an international retail company. Its first store was opened in France in 1961.
Auchan Retail Ukraine has been operating in Ukraine since 2008.
