UAH 7.6 billion will be allocated for construction, reconstruction and capital repairs in 2023 according to the Program of economic and social development of Kyiv in 2021-2023, which is half as much as in 2022.
According to the press service of the department of economy and investment of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), the relevant decision to amend the program adopted by the deputies of the Kiev City Council on Thursday.
According to the industry distribution the largest amount of the budget funds will be directed on the projects in the field of transport, transport infrastructure and road sector – 3,6 billion UAH, where about 1 billion UAH is the road fund. According to the program 2.7 billion UAH will be directed to housing and communal services, 792.2 million UAH to health care and 394.7 million UAH to education.
It is noted that in 2023 in the capital will continue reconstruction and building on the sections of the Kiev ring road, reconstruction Shulyavskogo overpass and development of the capital subway.
Much money in the sphere of housing and communal services is provided for large infrastructure projects, the implementation of which is important not only for Kiev, but also for the whole Kiev region. In particular, we are talking about reconstruction of Bortnytska aeration station and consolidation of sludge fields dikes near it, technical re-equipment of household waste landfill sites in Podgortsy village, reconstruction and technical re-equipment of “Energia” plant.
More than 101 million UAH will be directed to the reconstruction of sewage collectors and water supply facilities.
Funds will also be used to restore facilities after enemy’s rocket attacks. In particular, to repair CHP-5 and CHP-6, as well as to complete the restoration work started this year on the residential buildings on Glubochytska and Ostapa Vyshny streets.
Google will provide a $2 million grant and its experts from Google.org Fellowship for the development of digital education in Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine said in a Telegram channel on Friday.
As handwriting in the Ministry of Digital Transformation, it will help Ukrainians get a new profession, learn digital literacy and find a job.
In addition, as part of a joint project with Google.org, the Ministry of Digital plans to update the platform of the national project “Dia. Digital Education.”
It is planned, in particular, to introduce elements of artificial intelligence to create an individual training plan, interactive simulators that will bring the user closer to real situations in the profession; as well as recommendations for requalification and professional development.
In addition, the platform wants to implement job searches according to direction and success in training.
“Also, the grant from Google.org involves the creation of a special educational application and the development of new educational series and projects,” said in the report of the Ministry of Information.
In addition, the functionality of the platform and educational products will be translated into English.
The team of the project “Dia. Digital Education” will work together with specialists from the Google.org Fellowship team.
Product managers, software engineers, and marketing managers from Google will help scale Project Dia. Digital Education” for six months.
The goal of the project is to help Ukraine solve the issue of unemployment among IDPs and contribute to the economic revival of the country. The partner of the project is the Eastern Europe Foundation.
The traditional French bread loaf – baguette – at the meeting of the 17th Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO was registered in the representative list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The committee voted unanimously to recognize the artistry and culture of the baguette.

Motor-Garant Insurance Company and Alfa Strakhovaniye PJSC will lose the right to conclude new contracts of compulsory insurance of civil liability of motor vehicles owners (CMTPL) starting from December 6, 2022, according to website of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU).
It is noted that companies must fulfill their obligations under previously concluded contracts.
The Ministry of Transport Insurance Bureau notes that the reason for this decision was the application of the National Bank of Ukraine to these companies in the form of suspension of licenses for compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of vehicles.
As reported, on December 5, the NBU suspended Alfastrakhovanie and Motor-Garant in connection with the fact that the companies did not meet the requirements of the Regulations on licensing and registration of financial services and conditions for their activities in the provision of financial services, namely the requirements for business reputation of financial services providers.

Ukraine has imported power generators and generator equipment worth $60m over the last two weeks, First Deputy Economy Minister Denis Kudin said.
“The second item of imports for the last two weeks were generators and generator equipment. Second only to fuel. We’ve imported $60 million worth of such equipment in those two weeks, and judging by what we know from the companies, the volume of generators that are on the road waiting for delivery in the second half of December, January, February and March is just off the charts,” he said during a discussion at the Center for Economic Strategy on Thursday.
Kudin added that, according to his data, Lviv and Kyiv are compensating businesses for 75 percent of the cost of generators.
Croatia became the 27th member of the Schengen Area on Thursday following a decision in Brussels by the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council, French newspaper Le Figaro announced.
