FROM JULY 1, POLAND STOPS PAYMENTS TO UKRAINIAN REFUGEES

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland and Commissioner of the Polish Government for Refugees Pavel Shefernaker said that from July 1, the Polish government will no longer pay 40 zlotys a day (about 276 UAH as of June 1) for food and accommodation for Ukrainian refugees and counts on their employment and self-sufficiency, Rzeczpospolita reports.

“We are convinced that many people in Poland are able to become independent and adapt,” Schefernaker told TVP Info, noting that there will be exceptions – for some refugees, benefits will be expanded, these are “disabled, pregnant women or large families.”

The report notes that the Polish government, in a special act on assistance to refugees from Ukraine, initially guaranteed the benefit for the first 60 days, and a month ago extended it for another 60 days, but there will be no further.

“We pay out huge social funds – from PLN 300 for each to PLN 500+ for each child, and other amounts arising from social benefits. In addition, we see that many Ukrainians are looking for work, finding it and coping with everything. We want encourage others to be active. Four months of full protection is, in our opinion, a sufficient period,” a senior politician from the Law and Justice party, who was not named, said in a commentary to the publication.

“Rzeczpospolita” also notes that the government’s decision is dictated by very high costs for the maintenance of refugees. In particular, the Silesian Voivodeship estimated the current costs of 115 thousand refugees at PLN 190 million per month, of which daily payments of PLN 40 per person amount to PLN 160 million.

“We are just starting a wide range of measures aimed at activating Ukrainians in employment. Already 14,000 of them, including 11,000 women, have found legal work in our region. We are waiting for a special act that will help finance Polish language education and refresher courses qualifications, which, of course, will help you find yourself in the labor market,” said the press secretary of the Silesian voivode Alina Kukharzhevskaya.

Mayor of Muszyna, Malopolska Voivodeship, Jan Golba noted that out of 1,300 refugees who once settled in the city, 400 now live in it, of which only 60 people have found work so far. “We hired a doctor, a dentist, nurses and kitchen assistants. It’s a lot and a little. Whoever wants to work will find a job. And who doesn’t want to, nothing will force him. If the government does not pay 40 they probably won’t make it,” he told the publication.

PARIMATCH LEAVES BELARUS AND TRANSFERS BUSINESS TO A LOCAL TEAM

The decision to leave Belarus was made a long time ago – and this means a complete termination of all relations that takes time to finalize. When the war started we did not want to leave our people in Belarus. However, the compromises are no longer possible – we transfer business control to a local team so they could decide their destiny. We finally take the Parimatch brand away from Belarus.

The holding transfers the services and client support to the management of the local team in Belarus, which is no longer part of the Parimatch holding. The holding will no longer receive profit from the company operating in Belarus, either today or in the future. We expect to bear substantial losses as a result of this decision.

We are in the process of breaking off relations with the Republic of Belarus in compliance with all laws and ensuring the continued safety and support of our employees and customers. During the transition period, the services will remain available in Belarus and will be managed by the new owner.

Earlier, the company announced the withdrawal of the franchise from the Russian Federation. The platform has not been available there since March, and Parimatch brand is prohibited to use.

Despite the magnitude of this decision, we as a company are confident in the future of our business and strive to deliver quality and reliable services to our customers worldwide.

We urge you to stop speculation on this topic.

Parimatch has been building its reputation over the years. We are proud of numerous worthy deeds for society, honesty to customers and partners, and care for employees.

We are ready to defend our position in court. The strongest argument on our side is the truth. And the funds that competitors sent to black PR and custom publications would be better directed to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

SALES OF NEW PASSENGER CARS IN UKRAINE IN MAY INCREASED BY 2.1 TIMES COMPARED TO APRIL – UP TO 2.7 THOUSAND UNITS

Sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine in May 2022 increased by 2.1 times compared to April – up to 2.7 thousand units, but by May 2021 the drop was 69%, reports AUTO-Consulting.
“May brought quite good results for the new passenger car market. For the second month in a row, the market has almost doubled compared to the previous month. However, sales figures were 69% lower than in May 2021,” according to the website of the information and analytical group .
At the same time, according to its data, the decline in sales since the beginning of this year has slowed down a bit: 15.5 thousand cars were sold in five months (61% less), and dealer networks began to work actively.
By the end of May, Toyota became the sales leader, which managed to increase sales by 2.6 times compared to April (up to 412 cars), and this breakthrough made it possible to get ahead of Renault, which took second place in May with sales growth of 45% – up to 290 units. .
According to AUTO-Consulting, Volkswagen and Skoda are steadily increasing sales (keeping the third and fourth positions in the ranking with a 2.3-fold increase in sales by April and 90% respectively), which do not have problems with logistics.
Sales of Hyundai, which returned to fifth place (from sixth in April), also increased by almost 2.8 times, while BMW dealers more than tripled sales, which made it possible to move to sixth place against eighth a month earlier.
According to statistics provided by analysts, Nissan improved its position in the rating, increasing sales by 2.8 times – up to 120 units, and Kia managed to climb to eighth place from 14th in April with a growth of 3.6 times – up to 115 cars. Volvo dealers showed a significant improvement in their position, with sales growing from 7 cars in April to 51 in May.
“So the car market is reviving and gaining momentum, and this is a good sign. However, not all operators have yet been able to build new logistics and there is a subsidence in the market,” the group’s experts state.
They draw attention to the changing priorities of new car buyers during the war: if the Toyota Rav4 and Renault Duster are the constant leaders in sales, then in May the Kia Rio, Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Yaris Cross also became leaders.
“May will be a record in the share of sales of electric vehicles. Ukrainian buyers have scooped up almost all available electric cars,” AUTO-Consulting emphasizes.
As reported with reference to Auto-Consulting data, in 2021 the market for new passenger cars grew by 20% to 103.65 thousand units.
