AIRBALTIC STOPS NIGHT FLIGHTS TO UKRAINE UNTIL END OF FEB

The Latvian national airline airBaltic has decided to suspend night flights to/from Ukraine until the end of February 2022, according to the company’s website.
“The airline will continue to provide flights from Kyiv to both Riga and Vilnius. The safety of our passengers and employees is the main priority of airBaltic. airBaltic is evaluating the current situation before each flight and following the recommendations issued by official authorities. airBaltic is flexible and ready to adjust its flight schedule if necessary,” the statement said.
This week, airBaltic plans to operate day flights between Kyiv and Riga, as well as two flights between Kyiv and Vilnius.
Due to the temporary suspension of flights, the airline canceled five night flights between Kyiv and Riga, as well as two flights between Odesa and Riga. The airline will contact the passengers of the indicated flights and offer them to transfer the booking to other flights.
As reported, the Ministry of Infrastructure is negotiating with Ukrainian airlines to replace flights canceled by foreign airlines.
airBaltic (Air Baltic Corporation AS) connects the Baltic region with more than 70 destinations in Europe, the Middle East and the CIS countries.

NORD STREAM 2 CERTIFICATION PROCESS STOPPED

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he had stopped the process of certification of Nord Stream 2.
“Today, I asked the Federal Ministry of Economics to withdraw from the Federal Network Agency [the German regulator] a report on ensuring energy security. This sounds like technical details, but this is a necessary step so that the certification of the gas pipeline could not take place now. Without this certification, Nord Stream 2 cannot be launched,” the German chancellor said.

CHARGE D’AFFAIRES OF UKRAINE IN RUSSIA WITHDRAWN FOR CONSULTATIONS

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (MFA) is withdrawing Charge d’Affaires for Ukraine in Russia Vasyl Pokotylo for consultations due to the recognition by Russia of the independence of certain regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions that are not controlled by the Ukrainian government.
“Due to the adoption by the Russian leadership of unlawful decisions to recognize the ‘independence’ of the quasi-formations created by it in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine the so-called ‘Luhansk People’s Republic’ and ‘Donetsk People’s Republic,’ Charge d’Affaires of Ukraine in Russia Vasyl Pokotylo was summoned to Ukraine for consultations,” the MFA press service said on Tuesday.

UKRGAZVYDOBUVANNIA GAS PLANT IN LUHANSK REGION DAMAGED

A comprehensive gas treatment unit (GTU) of JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia in Luhansk region has been damaged by mortar shelling, the company’s press service said on Monday.
The odorization unit, operator’s room, a service vehicle and a garage were damaged, it said.
There were no casualties or injuries. The personnel, namely, a driver and an operator, left the GTU.
The gas supply to the village of Lobacheve, Luhansk district, was cut off due to damage to the gas treatment unit’s equipment.

SAYING GOODBYE TO WINTER IN AN ORIGINAL WAY NEAR KYIV

This weekend, on February. 26 and 27, it is planned to say goodbye to winter in an original way near Kyiv. On February, 26 and 27, the inhabitants of the Principality invite to the traditional «Farewell to winter» festivities, in order to remember the traditions of our ancestors together, kick away the winter, call for spring and have fun from the heart in the atmosphere of the living Middle Ages. And ancient Slavic amusements and rituals will fill the program with a special coloring.
The inhabitants of the Principality will open for the guests the gates to a real medieval city – Ancient Kyiv, where you can see monumental wooden defensive structures (about 300 meters long), Mickle`s Gate (21 meters high), the estates of Kyiv residents of the Хth-ХIIth centuries, the princely terems and tribunes, the watchtowers, and also the reconstructed functioning wooden temple of Kyiv of the Хth century. The unique expositions with siege weapons, the reconstructed battle boat of the Хth century, and even the medieval torture room are waiting for the visitors.
On February, 26 and 27, the guests will enjoy an interesting entertaining program dedicated to ancient Slavic traditions and rituals. The inhabitants of Ancient Kyiv will invite both adults and children to take part in merry and cognitive competitions, fiery Slavic round dances.
The visitors will see the unique «live» collection of horses of rare ancient breeds, collected from the farthest corners of the world in the Princely stable. The experienced horse breeders will tell you a lot of interesting things about the history of breeding and the characteristics of the breeds. The guests will be amazed by the grace and skill of these beautiful horses. At the open master-classes on training and horse care, the experienced horse breeders will share with the visitors the secret of how to make these smart and noble animals become true friends for their owners.
Everyone will be able to approach the horses, palm them, arrange a bright photo session and even ride on horseback or in a carriage. You can take carrots, beets with you and treat the horses with the permission of the stable administration.
The horse-trick performances, during which the courageous riders will amaze the visitors with the masterly possession of medieval weapons, will give unforgettable emotions.
In Ancient Kyiv, traditional Ukrainian ancient horse martial arts are being revived: trick riding and horseback archery. Everyone can master the ancient martial art of horseback archery by enrolling in the «Prince Volodymyr» school of horseback archery. So from the first lesson, you will begin to comprehend the art of controlling a horse and accurate bow shooting. Join the fighting traditions of our ancestors!
