The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the opening of an international checkpoint across the state border at Zhytomyr airport for freight and passenger traffic with a permanent mode of functioning and round-the-clock operation.
The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on June 30.
As noted in an explanatory note to the decision, to date, Korolev Zhytomyr International Airport state enterprise of Akkord LLC is an efficient subsidiary that can provide landing, takeoff, parking and maintenance of aircraft, passengers and cargo.
The net supply of foreign currency from the Ukrainian population since the beginning of the year amounted to $1.6 billion, Head of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Bohdan Danylyshyn has said.
“In the segment of foreign exchange transactions of individuals, the supply of foreign currency continues to prevail over demand. In particular, since the beginning of June, the net sale of foreign currency by individuals (in cash and non-cash form) has exceeded $300 million, and since the beginning of the year amounted to almost $1.6 billion,” he wrote on Facebook.
As reported, the net supply of foreign currency by the population of Ukraine in March amounted to $182 million, and in April – $422 million.
SkyUp Airlines will launch flights on the Odessa-Thessaloniki (Greece)-Odessa route from July 6.
According to the press service of the company, they will be performed once a week on Tuesdays.
There are currently no direct flights from Odessa to Thessaloniki.
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted at the final reading a bill allowing the import of samples of innovative crop protection agents (PPP) for scientific research and state testing into Ukraine by canceling the amendment introduced in December 2015 prohibiting the testing of imported pesticides without their preliminary registration in the country of origin.
Bill No. 2289 with amendments to Article 4 of the law on pesticides and agrochemicals regarding the import of pesticides into the customs territory of Ukraine at the final reading at a session on Wednesday were supported by 291 MPs with the required 226 votes.
The rule, according to which a prerequisite for the import and use in Ukraine of samples of unregistered pesticides used for state testing and scientific research is documentary confirmation of their state registration in the country of production, was removed from Article 4 of the law on pesticides and agrochemicals.
According to an explanatory note to the document, conflicts of legal norms on the regulation of the import and use of pesticides not registered in Ukraine are eliminated, and it is allowed to use, store, sell, advertise and transport the remnants of imported agents within two years after the expiration of their registration period.
Over the past day, June 29, some 81,637 people were vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease in Ukraine, while 21,475 Ukrainians received the first dose of the vaccine, and 60,162 received the second, the press service of the Ministry of Health reports. “Some 81,637 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 per day on June 29, 2021. Some 21,475 people received the first dose, and 60,162 people were fully immunized. Some 518 mobile teams, 1,336 vaccination points, and two vaccination centers worked during the day,” the ministry said on Telegram.
It is noted that as of June 29, 2021, some 756,424 people were on the waiting list for vaccination against COVID-19.
“Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, 1.934 million people have been vaccinated, of which 1.933.944 received the first dose, and 649,524 people were fully immunized and received two doses [two of them received the first dose abroad]. A total of 2.583 million vaccinations were carried out,” the Ministry of Health said.
Ukrainian transport companies carried 1.026 billion passengers in January-May 2021, which is 1.4% more than in January-May 2020, the State Statistics Service has reported.
The passenger turnover of transport enterprises in the specified period amounted to 21.5 billion passenger-kilometers, which is 7% more than in January-May last year.
According to the State Statistics Service, 29.9 million passengers used railway transport in January-May 2021 (including city commuter trains), which is 6.8% more than in the same period in 2020, and 426.9 million passengers used road transport (1.5% more).
Air transport reduced passenger traffic by 20%, to 2.4 million people.
In addition, according to the State Statistics Service, in January-May 2021, some 155.4 million passengers used trams (9% less versus January-May 2020), subway carried 174.4 million people (21.1% more), trolleybuses some 236.9 million people (4% less).
During the specified period, water transport carried 0.1 million passengers.
