MORE THAN 4 MLN VACCINATED IN UKRAINE

Over the past day, on July 16, more than 111,000 people were vaccinated against coronavirus in Ukraine, more than 4 million vaccinations have been made since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, the press service of the Ministry of Health said on Saturday.
“More than 4 million vaccinations have been carried out since the beginning of vaccination! Some 111,150 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 per day on July 16, 2021. One dose was received by 65,226 people, while 45,924 people were fully immunized,” the message published on the Telegram says.

LICENSES FOR EXTRACTION OF RAW MATERIALS IN UKRAINE TO BE ISSUED MORE STRICTLY

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov announced the determination of 137 types of raw materials, minerals, which will be under the special control of the Ukrainian state.
“Some 137 types of raw materials and minerals have been identified, which today will be under the special control of our government. These licenses will be issued more carefully by the government, because we see what is happening,” Danilov said at a briefing on the results NSDC meeting in Kyiv on Friday.
He said the companies have licenses for copper mining, but not a single kilogram of copper is mined in Ukraine.
“All this will be taken under control by this decision. In addition, certain processes will be strengthened, taking into account the fact that from January 1, 2021, children who were born should receive certain money after a certain period of time, when this system will work,” Danilov said.

33% OF UKRAINIANS ALREADY HAVE IMMUNITY TO CORONAVIRUS

Some 33% of Ukrainians already have immunity to the coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov has said.
“I can say the preliminary results of a sociological study conducted in our country. The results indicate that 33% of the population already has immunity to COVID-19,” Danilov said at a briefing following the NSDC meeting on Friday, July 16.
“In addition, with regard to vaccinated people, we believe that 38-40% of people in our country are already immunized,” he said.
According to Danilov, “this is not a reason for us not to comply with the restrictive measures proposed by doctors.”
“Moreover, I want to ask everyone to speed up vaccination as soon as possible. We believe that everyone will be vaccinated in the near future. This is very important, because, having the herd immunity of our citizens, this will be a preventive measure against morbidity,” he said.

UKRAINE TO TAKE ADDITIONAL MEASURES TO RESPOND TO NEW CORONAVIRUS VARIANTS

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will take additional measures to respond to the emergence of new variants of the coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov has said.
“You know that two new variants, Delta and Lambda, have appeared, which today cause concern about their spread on the territory of our country. The Minister of Health, Mr. Liashko, was heard and the Cabinet of Ministers will take additional measures to respond to this threat in the near future, because it is very dangerous. Because, as you know, to our great regret, they already concern not only the adult population – they also concern children,” Danilov said at a briefing following the NSDC meeting in Kyiv on Friday.
The NSDC secretary also said that Ukraine intends to toughen the requirements for the entry of citizens from countries with the spread of the Indian strain.
“We have four countries plus one, there will be strict restrictions on these countries, directly where [the Indian strain] is raging, these are India, Russia, Belarus and two more EU countries. And we will demand to reduce the number of people who will come from there,” he said.
“Moreover, we do not exclude that the Cabinet will take additional measures in these countries. The Health Ministry will announce them publicly,” Danilov said.

1,300 PRELIMINARY APPLICATIONS FOR E-RESIDENCY RECEIVED IN UKRAINE

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has received 1,300 preliminary applications for e-resident status from different countries.
“Two weeks ago, we launched a project landing to an international audience. And we have already received 1,300 preliminary applications for e-resident status from different countries,” Deputy Prime Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov wrote in his telegram channel.
According to him, the first country and the most successful example of launching an e-residency was Estonia, which in six years received more than 80,000 e-residents and plus EUR 54 million to the state budget.
“Inspired by the experience of foreign partners, we are creating a new product, thanks to which Ukraine has the potential to become the largest IT hub in Eastern and Central Europe. By the end of 2022, we expect 3,000 e-residents in Ukraine,” he said.
According to Fedorov, the project will annually replenish the Ukrainian state budget by $1.5 million.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday adopted at the first reading Bill No. 5270 of March 18, 2021, introducing temporary (until December 31, 2022) features and rules of taxation of business activities of electronic resident entrepreneurs (e-residency).
286 MPs voted in favor of the bill.
The bill will allow foreigners and stateless persons who have received e-resident status to register as a person-entrepreneur, conduct business activities and pay taxes in Ukraine without the need to stay in Ukraine.
