BLACK SEA TRADE AND DEVELOPMENT BANK MULLING FINANCING OF CONSTRUCTION WIND FARM IN UKRAINE

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) is considering a possibility of participation in financing of construction of a wind farm in Kherson region with an installed capacity of 250 MW by SyvashEnergoProm LLC, a subsidiary of Norway’s NBT, the bank has reported on its website.
The sum of financing is not specified.
As reported, early September 2018, an agreement on the implementation of an international investment project to build a complex of wind farms in Kherson region with NBT to play the leading role in the project was signed. The wind farm would allow satisfying almost the half of the needs in electricity in Kherson region. According to the project, by the end of next year 67 wind turbines will be installed along the coast of the Syvash Lake. Total investment under the agreement is almost $450 million.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will consider a loan worth up to EUR 150 million for SyvashEnergoProm LLC for the construction of the wind farm, of which up to EUR 75 million would be funded from the EBRD resources and the remainder would be syndicated in a B-loan structure to eligible institutions.
NBT acquired SyvashEnergoProm in Kherson, Ukraine in April 2018. The plan is to construct a wind farm with installed capacity in the range of 250–330 MW, the company said.
In 2006, Kherson Regional State Administration transferred the unfinished Syvash wind power plant to concession to SyvashEnergoProm until 2055.

UKRZALIZNYTSIA LAUNCHES TEST OF MUKACHEVO-BUDAPEST TRAIN ON EUROPEAN GAUGE

PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia on November 14, 2018 launched the Mukachevo-Budapest train on the European gauge in a test mode, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan has written on his Facebook page.
“We are planning to launch a regular communication in the near future… The next direction is to Slovakia, and also using the European gauge. This was recently agreed with the Slovak colleague,” the minister said.
According to him, with its convenient communication with many Ukrainian cities and EU countries, Mukachevo can become a major railway hub, and not just a passenger one.
As reported, in September, Ukrzaliznytsia postponed the launch of the Mukachevo-Budapest train until the end of 2018 and planned for 2019 the new Kyiv-Berlin train.

AGROLIGA POSTS 2.9% FALL IN NET PROFIT IN JAN-SEPT

The Agroliga Group (Kharkiv region) in January-September 2018 saw a EUR 2.35 million in net profit, which is 2.9% less than a year ago.
According to a company report for January-September 2018, revenue grew by 4.9%, to EUR 15.26 million, gross profit – by 4.7%, to EUR 3.43 million, and operating profit fell by 5.6%, to EUR 2.81 million.
Total assets as of September 30, 2018 came to EUR 33.02 million compared with EUR 25.33 million as of December 31, 2017.
Agroliga has been operating on the Ukrainian agricultural market since 1992. Its enterprises are engaged in growing grain crops, processing sunflower seeds, and dairy farming.
The group cultivates about 10,000 hectares of land.
The majority shareholders of the group are Oleksandr Berdnyk with a share of 41.66%, and Iryna Poplavska with 41.66%.

RUBIZHNE CARDBOARD MILL SEES 14% RISE IN CORRUGATED CARDBOARD BOXES OUTPUT

Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill in Luhansk region, one of Ukraine’s largest cardboard packaging producers, produced 211.9 million square meters of corrugated cardboard boxes in January-October 2018, including goods from its Trypilsky packaging plant, which is 14.1% up year-over-year.
Thus, production growth in the ten months ending October 2018 somewhat slowed compared to the same period last year, the UkrPapir association said.
The mills increased production of components of corrugated cardboard (cardboard and fluting) by 4.8%, to 243,550 tonnes.
The total commodity amount produced by both plants in the period in monetary terms grew by 30.3%, to UAH 4.635 billion.
According to UkrPapir association, cardboard packaging production in Ukraine in January-October 2018 grew by 0.6% and amounted to 840.69million square meters.
The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill has worked on the packaging market since 1991, and specializes in the production of components for corrugated cardboard (cardboard and fluting) and corrugated cardboard boxes.
Its most important customers are large confectioneries, juice and tobacco producers.
The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill acquired Trypilsky packaging plant in 2002 and subsequently began producing corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging.
