IBM WINS TENDER TO DEVELOP INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY FOR THE LARGEST OIL AND GAS PRODUCING COMPANY IN UKRAINE

IBM Ukraine LLC, which is wholly owned by IBM Central and Eastern Europe, has won a tender called by NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy to have its strategy for information technology developed. IBM Ukraine, with a bid of UAH 3.748 million (VAT included), defeated other bidders, namely Ernst & Young (E&Y) and PwC Polska, Naftogaz announced in the ProZorro e-procurement system. The services must be provided by December 31, 2018.
The goal is to determine the level of IT maturity and ensure maximum efficiency from investments in IT. As a result, the target operating model of the company’s IT and the development roadmap should be developed, including a portfolio of projects, the necessary resources and portfolio management processes.
The IT analysis should be carried out for Naftogaz and its subsidiaries, namely Ukrtransgaz, Ukrgazvydobuvannya, Ukrtransnafta, Ukrspetstransgaz, Chornomornaftogaz, and Ukravtogaz.
Naftogaz Ukrainy unites the largest oil and gas producing enterprises of the country. It is a monopolist in transit and storage of natural gas in underground storage facilities, as well as transportation of crude oil by pipelines throughout the country.

UKRAINE’S INSURERS RAISE OSAGO PREMIUMS BY 21%

The insurance companies of Ukraine, the members of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU), in January-June 2018 increased collection of insurance premiums on compulsory insurance of vehicle owners’ civil liability (OSAGO) by 20.9% compared with the same period in 2017, to UAH 2.183 billion.
According to the MTIBU’s website, the number of OSAGO contracts for the six months increased by 4.4%, to 3.905 million. The total volume of insurance claim fees paid under internal insurance contracts, according to the MTIBU, increased by 16.2%, to UAH 1.066 billion. In particular UAH 158.2 million were paid using EU accident report forms, which is 44.1% more than in January-June 2017.
The bureau also recorded a reduction in the number of settled claims for insurance compensation – by 0.4%, to 67,700, of which 17,832 using EU accident report forms (an increase of 16.5%).
The MTIBU is the only association of insurers that carry out compulsory insurance of civil liability of land vehicles’ owners for harm caused to third parties. The members of the bureau are 56 insurance companies.

WIZZ AIR TO LAUNCH FLIGHTS FROM LVIV TO VILNIUS, BRATISLAVA, FROM KHARKIV TO GDANSK, WROCLAW

Hungary’s low cost airline Wizz Air from October 2018 will service flights from Lviv to Vilnius and Bratislava, and from Kharkiv to Gdansk and Wroclaw. The press service of the airline reported that Ukrainian passenger can book tickets on the airline’s website at the prices starting from UAH 299 for a one-way ticket, taking into account all taxes and duties.
Flights from Lviv to Vilnius will be serviced from October 29 on Mondays and Fridays; from Lviv to Bratislava – from October 30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Flights from Kharkiv to Gdansk and Wroclaw will be serviced on Wednesdays and Sundays from October 28, 2018.
“We will now service regular flights from the Kharkiv international airport on four Polish routes, and we hope that direct flights to cities such as Wroclaw and Gdansk will open even more opportunities for our passengers: both in the tourism industry and in education, culture, entrepreneurship and others,” Commercial Director for Aviation Activities of the Kharkiv international airport (managed by New Systems AM, a member of the DCH group of businessman Oleksandr Yaroslavsky) Vladyslav Ilyin said.

UKRAINE’S LARGEST GAS PRODUCER WILL PAY ABOUT USD 600 MLN DIVIDENDS TO NAFTOGAZ

PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia will pay dividends to its sole shareholder Naftogaz Ukrainy from August 22 to August 30, 2018, Ukrgazvydobuvannia reported in the information disclosure system of the National Commission on Securities and the Stock Market. Payments will be made in accordance with the decision of Naftogaz dated August 3. As reported, Ukrgazvydobuvannia in 2017 increased its net profit by 2.6 times (by UAH 18.553 billion) compared to 2016, to UAH 30.473 billion, net income by 36.4% (by UAH 20.051 billion), to UAH 75.092 billion, gross profit by 2.2 times (UAH 23.057 billion), to UAH 42.062 billion.
Ukrgazvydobuvannia, 100% owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, is the country’s largest gas producer, which provides about 75% of the total gas production in the country.

KYIV TO HOST EUROPEAN DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS IN AUGUST 2019

The Technical Swimming Committee of the European Swimming League (LEN) has decided to hold the 2019 European Diving Championships in Ukraine, the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine reported. According to the report, the international competitions will be held tentatively in August next year.
The NOC recalled that Ukraine receives the right to conduct an international sporting event on diving for the third time in a row.
Ukraine hosted the European championships in 2017 and the world junior championships in 2018.
