VOLUME OF CONSTRUCTION WORK IN UKRAINE 11.2% DOWN IN JAN

The volume of construction work performed in Ukraine in January 2021 decreased 11.2% compared to January 2020, to UAH 7.2 billion, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to the statistics department, in January, the volume of construction work performed decreased by 80.3% compared to the previous month (according to seasonally adjusted data – by 14.6%), while compared to November 2020, this figure decreased by 1.2%.
The State Statistics Service reported that in January 2021 compared to January 2020, the growth in the volume of construction work was observed only in the segment of construction of engineering structures – the figure was 44.8%. At the same time, in residential construction, the decline in the volume of construction work amounted to 9.1%, in nonresidential – 6%.
The share of new construction of the total volume of completed construction work was 43.1%, repairs – 27.6%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 29.3%.
An increase in the volume of construction work in January 2021 compared to January 2020 was recorded in Sumy (by 0.2%, to UAH 88.7 million) and Khmelnytsky (by 128.1%, to UAH 285.8 million) regions.
In other regions of Ukraine, there was a decrease in the volume of construction work, in particular, in Zakarpattia region (by 59.4%, to UAH 22.8 million), Vinnytsia (by 55.6%, to UAH 96.8 million) and Luhansk (by 48.5%, to UAH 12 million). In Kyiv city, the indicator decreased 18.2%, to UAH 1.8 billion.
The data are given excluding the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

BRITISH-BASED FERREXPO RAISES PELLET OUTPUT BY 7% IN JANUARY

British-based Ferrexpo Plc, which in Ukraine, in particular, controls Poltava and Yeristovo ore mining and processing plants (Poltava GOK and Yeristovo GOK), in January 2021, increased pellet output by 7%, , to 1.05 million tonnes.
A representative of the company told Interfax-Ukraine that during this period the output of concentrate increased by 12.2%, to 1.3 million tonnes.
As reported, Ferrexpo in 2020 increased its total pellet output by 7%, year-over-year, to 11.218 million tonnes. Concentrate output increased by 5.9%, to 14 million tonnes.
Ferrexpo is an iron ore company with assets in Ukraine.

VITALI KLITSCHKO WINS LAWSUIT AGAINST 1+1 TV CHANNEL

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has won a lawsuit against the TV Broadcasting Company Studio 1+1, the press service of Kyiv City State Administration has said.
The lawsuit concerned the airing of the program Hroshi (Money) by Olekandr Dubinsky on the 1+1 TV channel. After the release of the program in August 2019, Klitschko and co-plaintiff Dmytro Bilotserkovets filed a lawsuit to protect honor, dignity and business reputation.
“As you remember, then a wide discrediting campaign was launched against me. And I declared that I would defend my honor and dignity in court. Therefore, I filed a lawsuit against the 1+1 TV channel, which threw mud at me. There is no talk of a restriction on freedom of speech,” Klitschko said.
Following the consideration of the lawsuit, the court satisfied it, obliging the 1+1 TV channel to refute the false information on the air of the program Hroshi. The court also ordered the Studio 1+1 to remove the program in which false information was made public from all information resources of the TV company and related social networks.

FOZZY GROUP ENDS 2020 WITH PROFIT

PrJSC Fozzy Group (Vyshneve, Kyiv region) ended 2020 with a net profit of UAH 8.6 million, while in 2019 it saw a net loss of UAH 5 million.
According to the company’s statement in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission on the meeting of shareholders scheduled for April 2, dividends for 2020 are not planned to be charged or paid.
As indicated in the report, the net profit per share of Fozzy Group for the last year amounted to UAH 0.27, while in 2019, UAH 0.35 of a loss was per share.
Retained earnings of the company in the past year doubled and amounted to UAH 16.3 million.
The total accounts receivable of the PrJSC last year decreased 63%, to UAH 932.5 million, current liabilities decreased 32%, to UAH 1.6 billion. The company has no long-term obligations.
Fozzy Group’s assets at the end of 2020 decreased 17%, to UAH 3.6 billion.
PrJSC Fozzy Group was established in 2005. According to the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, the shareholder of the PJSC is Fozzy Group LLC (98.7%). In the unified public register of legal entities and private entrepreneurs, Volodymyr Kostelman is indicated as the ultimate beneficiary.
The registered capital of the company is UAH 32 million.

H&M TO OPEN FIRST STORE IN KHARKIV

Swedish retailer H&M will open its first store in Kharkiv in May 2021 in new Nikolsky shopping mall, expanding its chain in Ukraine to six outlets, the retailer’s press service said.
The total area of the store is 2,100 square meters, of which about 1,700 square meters are shopping area. This is the sixth store of the chain in Ukraine and the first outside the Ukrainian capital.
“We see a high interest in the H&M brand in the regions and therefore are pleased to announce the opening of a store in Nikolsky shopping center in Kharkiv. I am sure that Kharkiv residents will appreciate both a wide range of goods and a modern store concept,” H&M Ukraine CEO Dominik Fantachino said.
According to H&M, the space of the store will differ from other stores of the chain in Ukraine with an updated interior concept. Buyers can expect a wide range of women’s, men’s, teenage and children’s clothing.
