BALTIC BEVERAGES INVEST ANNOUNCES SQUEEZE-OUT OF SHARES FROM MINORITY SHAREHOLDERS IN CARLSBERG UKRAINE

Baltic Beverages Invest Aktiebolag (Sweden) has announced plans to use the right to squeeze out shares from minority shareholders in one of the largest breweries in Ukraine – private joint-stock company Carlsberg Ukraine (Zaporizhia).
According to the report on March 26, 2019, Baltic Beverages Invest is the direct holder of the dominating stake in Carlsberg Ukraine in the amount of 1.01 billion with the face value of UAH 1 each, which is 98.77% of the total number of shares in the company.
Carlsberg Ukraine is to approve the market value of shares no later than 25 working days from the moment of receiving the announcement and inform Baltic Beverages Invest about it.
Carlsberg Ukraine is part of Carlsberg Group/
The group in Ukraine has three breweries in Zaporizhia, Kyiv and Lviv.

FRANCE’S AIGLE AZUR PLANS TO CARRY 16,000 PASSENGERS FROM KYIV TO PARIS AND BACK L

France’s Aigle Azur airline in 2019 plans to service 9-10% of passenger flow between Kyiv and Paris, which is around 16,000 passengers, Aigle Azur President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frantz Yvelin has said at a press conference in Kyiv.
“I believe in the Ukrainian market and we have long term plans. In the future, we hope for more flights than three per week,” he said.
According to him, the airline counts on passenger traffic in the amount of about 16,000 passengers in 2019.
“About 160,000 passengers travel between Kyiv and Paris, and we expect to receive about 9-10% of this passenger traffic,” Yvelin said.
According to him, there is practically no competition among air carriers on the Kyiv-Paris route, which makes these destinations attractive for Aigle Azur.
The airline will operate flights between Paris-Orly and Kyiv-Boryspil airports three times a week: from Paris on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and from Kyiv on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. A one way trip will cost around EUR 74.
As reported, Aigle Azur airline will launch a direct flight between the airports of Paris-Orly and Kyiv-Boryspil from April 18, 2019.
At the moment, UIA and Air France operate direct flights to Paris from Kyiv.

EBRD COULD PROVIDE UKRENERGO WITH EUR 149 MLN LOAN

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) could provide EUR 149 million to national energy company Ukrenergo for the project to modernize power transmission networks, the bank has said on its website.
The project has passed final review, pending board approval.
The loan will finance procurement of up to 26 new transformers and the automation and upgrade of 12 high voltage substations in key locations of the transmission network of Ukraine. The total project cost is EUR 198.2 million, including EUR 49.2 million of own funds of Ukrenergo.
The project will enable Ukrenergo to upgrade its key transmission infrastructure, required for synchronization with the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E).
In addition, the modernization will result in substantial energy savings and associated CO2 emission reduction.

UKRAINIAN INSURANCE GROUP TO RAISE CHARTER CAPITAL BY 83%

The shareholders of Ukrainian Insurance Group (Kyiv) at a meeting on March 20, 2019 decided to increase the charter capital of the company by UAH 95 million, or 83%, to UAH 209.259 million, the insurer has said.
According to the report, charter capital will be increased by placing 950,000 shares with a nominal value of UAH 100 per share. The market value of the share is UAH 97.55.
As reported, in January-September 2018 the insurance company collected insurance premiums in the amount of UAH 672.9 million, which is 13.5% more than in the same period a year earlier (UAH 477.8 million).
Of this amount, UAH 609.9 million amounted to premiums for voluntary types of insurance, UAH 63.1 million for mandatory types of insurance.
As of September 30, 2018, the company’s charter capital amounted to UAH 114.3 million, assets some UAH 959.7 million. Insurance reserves are formed in the amount of UAH 581.9 million.
In the first nine months of 2018, Ukrainian Insurance Group settled more than 89,000 insurance claims, paid out UAH 355.5 million in insurance claim fees.
Ukrainian Insurance Group has been operating in the Ukrainian insurance market since 2000. It is part of Vienna Insurance Group, one of the largest insurance groups, the leader of the insurance market in Central and Eastern Europe.

WIZZ AIR WILL LAUNCH FLIGHTS FROM KYIV TO LEIPZIG

Wizz Air, one of the largest European low-cost airlines, will start flights from Kyiv to Leipzig from July 5, 2019, which will become the tenth city in Germany to which the air carrier will fly from Kyiv.
According to a press release of Wizz Air, flights in this direction will be performed twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.
With the launch of this flight, the total number of destinations to which Wizz Air flies from Ukraine will reach 45 in 13 countries, in particular 29 from Kyiv.
The report says since the beginning of this year the airline has transported about 450,000 passengers on its flights to/from Ukraine, which is more than 80% more than in the same period last year and, according to its data, makes Wizz Air the largest low-cost carrier in Ukraine.
In total, Wizz Air offers flights on more than 650 routes from 25 bases, connecting 146 destinations in 44 countries. The airline’s fleet consists of 109 Airbus aircraft. Last year the airline carried 34 million passengers.

UKRAINIAN RADAR TECH WITH POLISH IMPERA ALFA TO INVEST EUR 2.5 MLN IN UKRAINIAN STARTUPS

Radar Tech, the developer of sectoral corporate accelerators, has become a partner of the Polish investment fund Impera Alfa Fund, a member of the Radar Tech team, managing partner of Unit.City Max Bakhmatov, said on Facebook.
“Finally they are ready to give money to startups: Radar Tech became a partner of the Polish fund Impera Alfa. Together with the partners we are ready to invest up to EUR 250,000 [20% should be used for R&D), even at the proof to concept stage,” he said.
Radar Tech and Impera Alfa plan to invest a total of EUR 2.5 million in Ukrainian startups.
“First of all, we consider those solutions that were submitted to us earlier or will be submitted to MHP Accelerator 2.0,” Bakhmatov said.
Impera Alfa Fund is a Polish venture fund that invests in startups at early stages.
As reported, earlier Radar Tech, Agrohub and Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP) began accepting applications for participation in the second MHP Accelerator 2.0 agricultural startup development program focused on search, acceleration and integration of innovative technologies in agribusiness.
