KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Etalon Corporation intends to start producing buses for the Ukrainian market at Chernihiv automobile plant from January 10, 2017 (in 2016 the plant was almost idle). The plant will produce around 25 buses a month, Etalon Corporation President Volodymyr Butko has said.
“Today we have paid for around 140 bus kits and with our pace we would have work for the first half of the year. Today the plant is optimistic. We are attracting workers to start bus production at Chernihiv automobile plant on the Ashok Leyland chassis,” Butko told Interfax-Ukraine.
He said that 8, 9 and 9.5-meter buses will be made. From April the plant would start mass production of city buses with low-deck rear platform for people on wheel chairs.
He said that the corporation hopes that the bus market would stir up and the plant would not produce buses for warehouses.
This year the plant made only 10 trolleybuses and two buses on DAF units and sold over 200 vehicles.
Butko said that this year the model range has been significantly upgraded.
Etalon Corporation units 21 enterprises, including two automobile plants in Boryspil and Chernihiv.
KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine and Belarus have prepared a roadmap for the development of cooperation in 2017-2020, in which the priority is the development of engineering projects, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has said.
According to the report, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Yuriy Brovchenko and Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Dmitry Korchik met on December 23 to discuss the development of industrial cooperation between the two countries.
“The development of cooperation in the field of engineering is one of the main priorities of Ukrainian-Belarusian cooperation. The prepared roadmap for the development of cooperation for 2017-2020 reflects primarily engineering projects, in particular production of tractors, grain and forage harvesters, wagons, construction and municipal machinery,” Brovchenko said.
It is planned Ukraine and Belarus will jointly produce trolleybuses, expand the range of lifts of total production.
It is also planned to organize a number of joint ventures, in particular, for production of agricultural machinery, together with Gomselmash holding.
According to the ministry, in January-August this year the trade turnover between Belarus and Ukraine totaled $2.3 billion, which is 9% more than in the corresponding period last year.
KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Nova Poshta company predicts that in 2016 the company would deliver 113 million parcels and this would be 20.8% up on 2015.
According to its press release, in November and December the Nova Poshta logistic system was operating in the conditions of the seasonal peak. In October 2016 the company delivered 10.1 million parcels, in November – almost 11.3 million and in the first three weeks of December – over 8 million parcels.
The company has considerably changed operation processes. Nova Poshta curriers are working from 07:00 until midnight (until clients are ready to accept parcels). The delivery system is operating on Saturdays and Sundays in cities with over one million of population and on the rest of the territory – from Monday till Saturday. The company hired 150 curriers without vehicles to deliver small parcels.
The schedules and structure of over 600 international delivery routes have been optimized.

KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine’s State Property Fund (SPF) is waiting for the proposals of potential investors regarding the privatization of state-run enterprise Electrotyazhmash plant (Kharkiv), a large global turbogenerator and traction electric machine manufacturer.
The fund’s press service reported last week that potential investors can send their proposals via filling in a special form.
According to the report, the enterprise is working on several promising directions to expand production: production of hydrogenerators for small and mini hydroelectric power plants, turbogenerator equipment for powerful thermal power plants, turbogenerators for nuclear power plants and induction motors for city electric transport.
KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – About UAH 8 billion of funds from the national budget were saved in 2016 thanks to the ProZorro e-procurement system, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has stated.
“If to talk about figures, this year we have saved UAH 8 billion,” he said during a meeting with students of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
The premier noted Ukrainian business is being stimulated, corruption schemes are eliminated due to open trading through the electronic system, while savings can be used for other needs of the state.
