Shavkat Mirziyoyev re-elected as President of Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan’s incumbent president Shavkat Mirziyoyev won last Sunday’s early presidential election with 87.5% of the votes, the head of the Central Election Commission Zayniddin Nizamkhojaev said.
“According to preliminary data, 13 million 625,055 people or 87.5% of voters who took part in the voting cast their votes for Mirziyoyev,” the CEC head said at a briefing on Monday.
Under Article 35 of the law “On the Election of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” this entitles him to be considered the elected head of state.
More than 19.5 million voters registered for the presidential election in Uzbekistan. Some 15,671,405 voters took part in the elections. Between June 28 and July 5, more than 800,000 voters, including about 188,000 abroad, cast their ballots early.
Four candidates ran for president of Uzbekistan, including current head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev, nominated by the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People – Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDep). His candidacy was also supported by the Democratic Party Milliy Tiklanish (National Revival).
The People’s Democratic Party nominated its leader Ulugbek Inoyatov, the Ecological Party its chairman Abdushukur Khamzaev, and the Social Democratic Party Adolat (“Justice”) its first deputy chairman Robakhon Makhmudova.
As a result, according to preliminary data from the CEC, 649 thousand 116 voters (4.2%) voted for the candidate of the PDPU, 693 thousand 634 (4.43%) for the representative of “Adolat” and the candidate of the Ecological Party got 585 thousand 714 votes (3.74%).
According to the CEC, the final results of the elections, held on July 9, will be announced within ten days.
In the past presidential election, 80.12% of the vote for Mirziyoyev, the UzLiDep nominee, October 24, 2021, was cast.
The current presidential election was the first since the introduction of constitutional amendments to extend the president’s term of office from five to seven years. According to the constitutional law, the incumbent head of state, Mirziyoyev, who is in his second term, can run for office again.

Elina Svitolina reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has outplayed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and reached the final of the 2023 Roku Olympics, reports Suspilne. Sport.”

Restrictions for trucks have been imposed in Odessa

In Odessa and the region from July 10 introduce summer restrictions for trucks, movement is allowed from 6:00 pm to 10:00 am, reported the press service OVA.
“We remind you that from (10.07.2023) in order to preserve the road surface during the hot season come into force summer bans on the movement of trucks from 10:00 to 18:00,” – said in the telegram channel of the head of the Odessa OVA Oleg Kiper.
From 18:00 to 10:00 movement of freight transport is allowed, stressed in the OVA.
As noted, the restriction of traffic will act on the highways M-15 /Odessa-Reni /, M-05 /Kiev-Odessa /, M-14 /Odessa-Melitopol/ within the Odessa region for heavy vehicles with a total weight of over 24 tons and loading on the axle 7 tons.
“Exceptions are specialized purpose vehicles and vehicles transporting dangerous, perishable goods, live animals and poultry; goods related to the prevention or elimination of the consequences of emergencies; military goods, dual-use goods and/or property used for the needs of defense; humanitarian aid; people,” the OVA stressed.
In the department reported that also allowed the movement of vehicles engaged in international transport of goods, provided that the driver of the truck has a reserved place in the waiting list to cross the state border of Ukraine for road transport means of the electronic system (“eOrder”) two days before the waiting list for the next time.
At the same time, engaged in the transportation of grain, oilseeds and fuel and lubricants businesses are advised to contact the Odessa OBA for consultation and subsequent receipt of passes during curfew by phone: (048) 718 93 87, (048) 718 95 20.
“The consultation will be carried out from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 18.00. In order to properly organize the issuance of passes, the relevant documents should be sent to the email address ytsatskoi@od.gov.ua,” explained in the administration.
It is noted that the observance of truck drivers and the requirements of road signs will be controlled by the territorial division of Ukrtransbezopasnost together with law enforcement officers.
It is also reported that at the same time the Service of restoration and development of infrastructure in the Odessa region will ensure the establishment of appropriate prohibitive and informational road signs and determination of places for placement of special sites or parking of heavy and/or large vehicles for the period of the special regime.

Online platform to protect rights of Ukrainian citizens has appeared in Poland

Poland has launched an online platform to protect the rights of Ukrainians, which will help them navigate the labor market or get legal advice, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine has announced.
“This is one of the sections of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) website. It explains their rights to Ukrainian asylum seekers. In particular, to navigate the labor market and protect themselves from unscrupulous employers. You can also get additional information or legal support from partners here,” the Ministry of Reintegration said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Sunday.
Reportedly, you can also get advice at the Support and Integration Centers.

Uzbekistan GTL starts selling its own liquefied gas

The Uzbekistan GTL plant has launched wholesale sales of liquefied natural gas, the press service of Uzbekneftegaz reports.
The first batch of 161 tons of fuel was traded at the Republican Commodity Exchange on June 22. Liquefied gas is offered at a starting price of 3.12 million soums per ton and is supplied on the terms of the Shurtan gas chemical complex.
According to the report, LPG is produced from a mixture of propane and butane under pressure. Its small volume simplifies transportation and delivery to consumers, including to the most remote areas.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev launched Uzbekistan GTL in December 2021, after 5 years of construction. The plant processes natural gas into jet fuel, diesel fuel, liquefied gas, oil and other products.
In February 2022, the plant launched its own hydrogen production, and four months later, it started producing synthetic oil and diesel fuel from it. In September, the plant also started producing synthetic jet fuel.
The first batch of GTL diesel went on sale at the beginning of last July. Since then, the manufacturer has reduced the selling price of the fuel five times, by a total of almost 35% compared to the original price.

President of Ukraine on NATO Summit: We agreed with President of Poland to act together

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Poland Andrzej Duda have agreed to coordinate their actions ahead of the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius.
“At the events in Lutsk, Andrzej Duda and I had a brief but very substantive discussion about the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius. We agreed to work together to get the best result for Ukraine,” Zelenskyy wrote on Twitter.
For his part, the Polish president also posted on Twitter: “Today in Lutsk, Ukraine, we met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to reaffirm friendship in the face of a difficult history and to hold final consultations before the NATO summit in Vilnius, which begins in two days.”
As Duda emphasized, “effective support for Ukraine in its aspirations for membership in the Alliance is very important for Poland.”
