Kyivstar mobile operator plans to launch 4G communications in the 2600 MHz range by April 10 of this year, company president Peter Chernyshov has said.

We are waiting for all the necessary permits and conducting additional network settings in connection with the new requirements of controlling state bodies. All is made in order to launch high-quality 4G from Kyivstar. It is important for us that our subscribers get a positive experience of using the service. Quickly does not always mean qualitatively. We plan to launch 4G by April 10,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

If the Ukrainian State Center of Radio Frequencies manages to issue all the papers for all 28 cities, tomorrow or at least from Monday we will launch 4G communications in the first cities,” she declared.
Ustinova stressed that Vodafone Ukraine will gradually launch the 4G mobile communications in the 2600MHz range, the first launch of the technology will cover 20 cities: Kyiv, three cities in Kyiv region (Boryspil, Vyshneve, Chabany), Dnipro, Pavlohrad (Dnipropetrovsk region), Kharkiv, Kupiansk (Kharkiv region), Zaporizhia, Energodar (Zaporizhia region), Lviv, Poltava, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Novoselytsia (Chernivtsi region), Lutsk, Kropyvnytsky, Odesa, and Kherson.
By July the 4G network will be launched in 28 cities, including Brovary, Irpin (Kyiv region), Lymanka (Odesa region), Berdiansk (Zaporizhia region), Uzhgorod, Mukachevo (Zakarpattia region), Palianytsia, and Yaremche (Ivano-Frankivsk region). The company notes that more than 30% of subscribers are ready to use 4G communications, and the average traffic consumption per subscriber in the operator’s network is 4 Gb. At the same time, it is expected that with the introduction of the fourth generation communications technology, the consumed traffic will double.
The lifecell mobile operator has begun to provide 4G (LTE technology) communications services in roaming in partner networks in 21 countries, the operator’s press service has said.
“High-speed communications of the fourth generation is automatically switched on in partner networks for all subscribers with USIM cards and smartphones that support the LTE standard,” the company said.
According to the data released by the company, there are 68% smartphone users among lifecell subscribers, almost half of which support LTE.
LTE roaming for the operator’s subscribers is open in partner networks in the following countries: Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, and Turkey.
To use LTE roaming, subscribers need to have a smartphone that supports this standard, a USIM card, and manually select a partner network in the smartphone settings during their stay in one of these countries. Tariffs for services will be in accordance with the cost of roaming in a particular country.
As reported, lifecell in 2017 received UAH 503.6 million net loss compared with UAH 928.3 million of net profit in 2016.
Turkcell (Turkey) owns 100% of the shares of lifecell LLC.
