AB INBEV EFES GETS LOSSES IN UKRAINE

PrJSC AB InBev Efes Ukraine (Kyiv), one of the largest brewing companies in Ukraine, received UAH 493.04 million in net loss in 2020 compared to UAH 63.57 million in net profit in 2019.
According to the company’s statement in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission on the annual meeting of shareholders on March 31, its assets grew by 16% over the year, to UAH 5.24 billion.
Retained earnings of the company in 2020 amounted to UAH 382.4 million versus UAH 103.66 million in 2019.
The shareholders of the company at the meeting intend to channel the reserve capital in the amount of UAH 31.45 million to cover the loss received in 2020, and to repay the rest of the loss at the expense of deferred profit.
In addition, the shareholders plan to open a credit line at the level of UAH 10 billion to conduct business.
According to AB InBev Efes, the number of ordinary registered shares of the company in 2020 did not change and amounted to 9.511 billion.
As reported, one of the leaders of the Ukrainian brewing market AB InBev Efes Ukraine was created in 2018 as a result of the merger of AB InBev and Anadolu Efes on the territory of Ukraine and Russia. AB InBev Efes Ukraine has three breweries in Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Mykolaiv.

AB INBEV EFES BRINGS U.S. CRAFT BEER TO UKRAINIAN MARKET

AB InBev Efes, a large brewing company, has brought a first batch of U.S. craft beer of Goose Island Brewery to Ukraine.
“The company brought to the Ukrainian market world-famous American brands from the manufacturer of craft beer Goose Island Brewery: Goose IPA and URBAN WHEAT ALE. The first batch is 60 hectoliters,” the company said in a press release on Tuesday.
Two brands of Goose Island Brewery are already on shelves in the Ukrainian MegaMarket, Novus and Silpo retail networks.
As reported, the world’s largest brewing concern Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) and Anadolu Efes, the largest brewing company in Turkey, completed the merger of businesses in Russia and Ukraine in equal shares late March 2018.
AB InBev Efes is one of the leaders of the Ukrainian brewing market, occupying 30.5% of it.
AB InBev Efes in Ukraine owns three breweries in Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions.

BEER MARKET IN UKRAINE WILL SHOW POSITIVE DYNAMICS – AB INBEV EFES PRESIDENT

The Ukrainian beer market in 2018 will show positive dynamics, AB InBev Efes President Dmytro Shpakov believes. “We expect that the market in 2018 will not only stabilize, but will show positive dynamics, given that in 2018 excise tax was not raised,” he told Interfax-Ukraine during Corona Save Trukhaniv Island, the environmental campaign to clean up the Trukhaniv Island. The expert noted that, according to research by Nielsen global company, beer consumption in Ukraine increased by 1.6% in 2017 against the fall of this indicator by 7.2% in 2016.
According to Shpakov, now there observed the trend towards the growth of premium and super-premium segments in Ukraine.
“However, the mid-price segment still remains the most popular. Beer with fruity taste is becoming more popular,” he said.
Local production accounted for 97.5% in the portfolio of Sun InBev Ukraine in 2017, while imports for 2.5%.
“In 2017 we increased the volume of imported products in our portfolio by 23.7%,” the president of AB InBev Efes said.
