Bayadera Group, one of the largest alcohol companies in the Ukrainian market, launches its own network of alcoholic stores Wine Wine by Winehouse.
According to the company’s press release, within three years the company plans to open up to ten wholesale stores selling wine and other alcoholic drinks in the wholesales format in Kyiv, and only then create a network in the cities with the population exceeding one million people.
The company noted that this business decision was made in connection with a change in consumer behavior in the market.
“We offer customers to build up alcohol stocks at home, as it is done with food or household cleaning products. Ukrainian consumers are ready for this: for example, successful “1+1″ sales or case wine sales testify about this. Wholesale purchases and the creation of home stocks will be prompted by the store’s price offers,” Bayadera Group’s director for development Yevhenia Shatalova said.
Bayadera Group believes that the potential audience for wholesale purchases is also the B2B segment, but the lion’s share will be final consumers.
According to the company, the next step will be the development of the Wine Wine educational program. Soon, a tasting room, and later a wine bar, will begin to function in the territory of the store.
Bayadera Group, a large alcohol producing holding in the Ukrainian market, this year seeks to invest UAH 80-100 million in planting new vineyards and modernization of plants. “In 2019, we are planning to invest UAH 80-100 million, first of all, in vineyards and modernization of plants. This will improve the quality, reduce the cost of production and increase efficiency,” Director General of Bayadera Group Anatoliy Korchynsky said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
In particular, in 2019 the group intends to plant about 200 hectares in Mykolaiv region.
According to the director general, Bayadera Group is considering the transition from the wine cork to the screw cap.
“Considering the global problem with cork, everyone will come to this in the next few years. In Europe this is already a reality, but in Ukraine the buyer still does not understand it. However, we are already preparing for the changeover of production,” Korchynsky said.
The group also conducts several experiments in terms of sales performance.
“If they are successful, this will also require certain investments,” Korchynsky said.
In 2018, Bayadera Group invested about UAH 80 million: some UAH 35 million in the agricultural sector, UAH 20 million – in plants, and near UAH 25 million – in distribution. In general, the alcohol holding has several areas of investment: agriculture, modernization and renewal of production facilities, as well as distribution.
Bayadera Group was established in 1991. Its owners are Natalia Bondareva and Sviatoslav Nechytailo. The company owns such assets in the alcohol industry as distribution companies and alcohol production facilities in Ukraine and Belarus. It produces wine, vermouth and cognac and is the exclusive importer of international alcohol brands in Ukraine.
The main trademarks are Persha Gildiya, Kozatska Rada, Hlibny Dar, Koblevo, Marengo, and others.
Bayadera Group, one of the largest alcohol groups in the Ukrainian market, in September plans to supply a first batch of alcohol to Canada. According to the group’s press release on Tuesday, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) made an official order for the trademarks Hlibny Dar, Hlibny Dar Craft, Kozak and Rada. The contract for the supply of Bayadera Group’s products is signed with Caalco Distributors Corporation. “Opening the Canadian market for us is a huge credit of trust from our Canadian partners. Vodka there remains the most popular alcoholic beverage with a share of about 20%, with annual sales of more than CAD 1.3 billion. It is logical that this is a large and promising market and we long went to becoming its full player,” Director of Export Sales at Bayadera Group Kostiantyn Pylypchuk said.
According to the company, Canada is in the top ten of the world’s largest importing countries and consumers of vodka. At the same time, contrary to the worldwide trend of reducing the share of imported vodka in most countries due to an increase in domestic production, in Canada the volume of vodka imports increased by 5% last year. The right to sell alcohol in Canada belongs to the state, therefore the procedure for monitoring and obtaining permits is complicated.
