Beer production in Ukraine in the first six months of 2024 reached 67.9 million dal, up 104.2% compared to the same period in 2023, according to the website of the industry organization of brewers Ukrpyvo.
Earlier it was reported that in 2023, beer production in Ukraine (except for non-alcoholic beer with an alcohol content of up to 0.5 vol%) amounted to 133.4 million dal, which is 7.8% more than in 2022. This figure is only 78.3% of the country’s beer production in 2021.
Beer production in Ukraine in 2022 decreased by 27.9% compared to 2021 – to 122.8 million dal.
By the end of 2022, the brewing industry had partially recovered after a 50% drop in production in the first quarter due to the Russian invasion and the shutdown of some breweries. Thus, in the first four months of the year, the decline amounted to 42.8% compared to the same period in 2021, 36.4% in January-May, 32% in January-June, 31.6% in January-July and January-August, 30.5% in January-September, 28.6% in January-October, 28.1% in January-November, and 27.9% in the previous year.
The production of beer in Ukraine (except for non-alcoholic beer with an alcohol content of up to 0.5% by volume) in January 2022 decreased 3.7% compared to January 2021, to 9.4 million decalitres, according to a posting on the website of the branch organization of brewers Ukrpyvo on Thursday.
As reported, in 2021 Ukraine produced 5% less beer compared to 2020 – 170.5 million decalitres, and in 2020 its production decreased by 0.4% compared to 2019, to 179.7 million decalitres.
Malt production in Ukraine in Jan grows by 11%
Malt production in Ukraine in January grew by 10.8%, to 18,600 tonnes.
Malt production in 2021 amounted to 218,500 tonnes, which is 19.5% less than in 2020.
At the same time, the year before last, its production decreased by 18% compared to 2019, to 275,000 tonnes.
Production of beer (except for non-alcoholic beer with an alcohol content of up to 0.5% vol.) in Ukraine in 2021 fell by 5.0% compared to the same period in 2020, to 170.5 million decalitres, the Ukrpyvo branch organization of brewers said on its website on Tuesday evening.
In addition, the production of malt in the country last year declined by 19.5%, to 218,500 tonnes.
As reported, beer production in 2020 in Ukraine decreased 0.4% compared to 2019, to 179.7 million decaliters, and malt production fell by 18%, to 275,000 tonnes.
Production of beer (except for non-alcoholic beer with an alcohol content of up to 0.5% ABV) in Ukraine decreased by 6.1% in January-November 2021 compared to the same period in 2020, to 156.6 million decaliters, according to the website of the brewers association Ukrpyvo.
At the same time, during the specified period, malt production decreased by 19.6%, to 195,580 tonnes.
