The volume of completed construction works in Ukraine in January-June 2024 increased by 50.2% compared to the same period of 2023 – up to UAH 82.4 billion, according to the data of the State Statistics Service. In June-2024, the index of construction products exceeded the index of June-2023 by 13.8%, and the previous month – by 88.3%, notes the State Statistics Service.
According to the State Statistics Service, in January-June 2024 to the same period in 2023, the growth of construction was observed in all segments. Thus, in residential construction growth amounted to 27.9% (up to UAH 11.7 billion), in non-residential – 44% (up to UAH 20.9 billion), in engineering – 59.8% (up to UAH 49.6 billion). Construction output indices for the above categories in the first half of the year amounted to 116.8%, 131.6% and 146.1%, respectively.
According to the seasonally adjusted data of the department, the indices of construction products in June-2024 in residential construction amounted to 43.2%, in non-residential construction – 98.4%, in engineering – 124.1%, and taking into account the effect of calendar days, the indicators are 43.8%, 93.9% and 100%, respectively.
The share of new construction to the total volume of completed construction works in the first half of the year amounted to 43.7%, repair – 29.4%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 26.9%.
The State Statistics Committee notes that the publication of data was postponed due to martial law. Statdata indicators are given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territory and part of the territory where hostilities are (were) conducted.
The volume of construction work performed in Ukraine in January-March 2023 increased by 8.4% compared to the same period in 2022 – up to 22.1 billion UAH, according to the State Statistics Service (Derzhstat).
According to the State Statistics Service, in March 2023 the index of construction works was 233.1% compared to March 2022. At the same time, the index increased by 37.9% in March against February this year.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in the first quarter of 2023 to January-March 2022 the decrease in construction was observed in the residential construction – by 13.65%, to 3.88 billion UAH (70.4%) and non-residential – by 0.16%, to 5.74 billion UAH (80.7%), whereas in the segment of engineering structures increased by 23.11%, to 12.48 billion UAH (99.6%).
The share of new construction to the total volume of construction works was 46.5%, repair – 31.3%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 22.2%.
The State Statistics Service notes that the publication of data was delayed due to the martial law. The statistical data excludes the temporarily occupied territory and the part of the territory where military operations are (were) taking place.
Prices for construction and assembly work in Ukraine increased by 17.5% in 2021 compared to 2020, the State Statistics Service reported. According to the Statistics Service, during the year, prices increased in all segments of construction: in residential construction, a growth was 12.4%, in non-residential construction – 15.9%, and in engineering – 21.9%.
In December 2021 versus December 2020, the cost of construction work in residential construction increased by 19.7%, in non-residential construction – by 21.4%, and in engineering – by 20.3%.
In addition, the State Statistics Service reported that in December 2021 compared to November 2021, the cost of construction of residential buildings increased by 1.7%, non-residential – by 1.2%, while the cost of construction of engineering structures decreased by 0.8%.
According to it, in 2020, prices for construction work in Ukraine increased by 3.7% compared to the previous year, while in 2019 – by 6%.
The figures are given without taking into account the annexed territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as parts of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the State Statistics Service notes.
Prices for construction and installation work in Ukraine in January-October 2020 increased by 2.6% compared to January-October 2019, the State Statistics Service (Derzhstat) reported.
According to the statistics department, since the beginning of the year, prices have increased in all construction segments. Thus, in residential construction, the growth was 4.3%, non-residential – 0.5%, and engineering – 3%.
In October 2020 to October 2019, the cost of construction work in residential construction increased by 5.6%, non-residential – by 3.6%, and engineering – by 10.2%.
In addition, the State Statistics Service reported that in October compared to September, the cost of construction of residential buildings increased by 0.1%, non-residential buildings and engineering structures – by 0.3%.
According to it, in 2019, prices for construction work in Ukraine increased by 6% compared to the previous year, while in 2018 – by 23%.
The indicators are given without taking into account the annexed territory of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as part of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the State Statistics Service notes.
The volume of construction works performed in Ukraine in September 2020 increased by 11.8% compared to September 2019, while in August compared to August a year earlier – by 8.3%.
According to the State Statistics Service (Derzhstat), since the beginning of the year, the volume of construction works completed amounted to UAH 119.8 billion. In general, in January-September this year, this figure increased by 0.2% compared to the same period last year.
According to the statistics department, in September the indicator increased by 18.3% compared to the previous month (according to seasonally adjusted data – by 2.5%), while in August compared to July this indicator increased by 3.6%.
According to the State Statistics Service, in September 2020 in comparison with September 2019, the volume of work decreased in housing construction and increased in non-residential and engineering one. Thus, according to unadjusted data, the decrease in volumes in housing construction was 7.1%. At the same time, the construction of non-residential buildings increased by 10.9%, engineering structures – by 18.5%.
The share of new construction in the total volume of completed construction works was 38.1%, repairs – 34.1%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 27.8%.
In January-September 2020, compared to the same period a year earlier, an increase in the volume of construction works was recorded in Donetsk (by 36%, to UAH 5.37 billion), Khmelnytsky (by 35.3%, to UAH 3.47 billion), Chernihiv (by 34.7%, to UAH 1.67 billion), Odesa (by 23.9%, to UAH 14.45 billion), Kyiv (by 22%, to UAH 8 billion), Lviv (by 10.9% , to UAH 8 billion), Sumy (by 9.8%, to UAH 1 billion), Chernivtsi (by 7.9%, to UAH 1.39 billion), Poltava (by 4.1%, to UAH 5.48 billion), Vinnytsia (by 2.4%, to UAH 6.21 billion), Volyn (by 1.4%, to UAH 1.41 billion) and Cherkasy (by 0.1%, to UAH 1.32 billion) regions.
In the remaining 12 regions and the city of Kyiv, a drop in the volume of construction works was recorded, in particular, in Zaporizhia (by 35.4%, to UAH 1.71 billion), Kirovohrad (by 35.3%, to UAH 893.7 million), Kherson (by 32.6% to UAH 787.3 million). In Kyiv, the volume of construction works performed during this period decreased by 5.5% and amounted to UAH 26.8 billion.
The statistics are given without taking into account the occupied Crimea and the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Prices for construction and assembly work in Ukraine in January-November 2019 increased by 6.5% compared with January-November 2018, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to statistics, since the beginning of the year prices have risen in all segments of construction. So, in residential construction the growth was 8.8%, in non-residential some 5.1%, in engineering some 5.7%.
In November 2019 from November 2018, the cost of construction work in residential construction rose by 3.8%, in engineering by 0.3%, while in non-residential construction the decrease was 1.6%.
In addition, the State Statistics Service said that in November compared with October, the cost of construction of residential buildings decreased slightly, by 0.5%, non-residential by 0.6%, while engineering structures increased by 0.4%.
According to its data, in 2018 prices for construction work in Ukraine increased by 23% compared to the previous year, while in 2017 by 13.4%.
