The Eiffel Tower in Paris will once again be lit up in blue and yellow on August 24, 2026, to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day, according to the Ukrainian Embassy in France.
According to the diplomatic mission, the embassy received confirmation of this from the Paris City Hall following its request. This year, Ukraine will celebrate the 35th anniversary of its independence.
“This year, the Eiffel Tower will once again be illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag on Ukraine’s Independence Day,” the embassy stated, thanking the Paris City Hall for this symbol of solidarity with Ukraine.
Illuminating the Eiffel Tower in the colors of the Ukrainian flag has already become a traditional symbolic gesture by the French capital. In particular, on August 24, 2025, the Paris City Hall also illuminated the tower in blue and yellow to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day.
City officials noted at the time that the Eiffel Tower had been illuminated in Ukrainian colors on several symbolic dates since the start of the full-scale war.
