Ukraine earned more than $1.6 bln from ferrous metal exports in 7 months of year

Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in January-July this year reduced revenues from ferrous metal exports by 53.6% compared to the same period last year – to $1 billion 621.038 million.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service (SCS) on Tuesday evening, ferrous metals accounted for 7.44% of total receipts from exports of goods during this period, while for 7M-2022 – 13.61%.
In July, revenues from ferrous metals exports amounted to $206.685 million, while in the previous month – $277.888 million.
At the same time, Ukraine has increased imports of similar products by 51.8% – up to $718.782 million in seven months of this year. In July, $112.462 million worth of products were imported.
In addition, in January-July Ukraine reduced exports of metal products by 11.3% compared to the seven months of the previous year – to $561.009 million. In July they were exported for $59.195 million.
At the same time, imports of metal products for the first seven months of the year increased by 23.3% to $432.906 million. In July, Ukraine received $73.702 million worth of these products.
As reported, the country’s metal enterprises in the first half of the year-2023 reduced revenues from exports of ferrous metals by 56.1% compared to the same period last year – to $1 billion 414.354 million. For 5 months-2023 the lag was 60.7%, for 4 months-2023 the decrease was 3.2 times.
Ukraine’s metal enterprises in 2022 decreased revenues from ferrous metal exports by 67.5% compared to 2021, to $4 bln 533.088 mln. Ferrous metals for this period accounted for 10.26% of total revenues from exports of goods against 20.49% for 2021. At the same time, Ukraine last year reduced imports of similar products by 38.3% to $954.387 million.
In addition, in 2022, Ukraine reduced exports of metal products by 18.6% to $1 billion 52.512 million. Imports of metal products for the year fell by 42.9% to $643.162 million.

UKRAINE INCREASES EARNINGS FROM FERROUS METAL EXPORTS TO $10.33 BLN IN JAN-SEPT

Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises in January-September this year increased earnings from exports of ferrous metals by 80% compared to the same period last year, to $10.33 billion.
According to updated statistics released by the State Customs Service, in September, earnings from ferrous metal exports amounted to $1.39 billion.
At the same time, Ukraine in January-September this year increased imports of similar products by 42.39%, to $1.08 billion. In September, this figure was $181.73 million.
In addition, Ukraine in January-September 2021 increased exports of metal products by 33.16%, to $870 million. In September, they were exported for $123.72 million.
In January-September 2021, imports of metal products grew by 25.43%, to $790 million. In September alone, imports totaled $96.99 million.

UKRAINE SEES 11% FALL IN FOREX EARNINGS FROM FERROUS METAL EXPORTS

Ukrainian metal companies saw a fall of 11.1% in foreign currency revenues from exports of ferrous metals in January-June 2019 year-over-year, to $4.797 billion.
According to customs statistics published by the State Fiscal Service, the share of ferrous metals of total income from exports was 19.6% compared to 23.21% from a year ago.
In June 2018 alone, receipts from ferrous metal exports amounted to $728.422 million.
In January-June 2018, Ukraine decreased imports of similar products by 4.5%, to $600.651 million including imports reaching $106.97 million in June.
In January-June 2018, Ukraine decreased metal products exports by 1%, to $534.622 million including June deliveries being $100.516 million. During this period, imports of metal products grew by 28.9%, to $528.524 million, including June imports worth $81.691 million.
As reported, in 2018 Ukraine saw its forex earnings from ferrous metal exports rise by 23.8%, to $9.937 billion. Ukraine saw imports of these products increase by 20.4%, to $1.367 billion.
Ukraine experienced a 23.8% rise in metal products exports, up to $1.11 billion. Metal imports grew by 19.9% last year, to $967.674 million.

UKRAINE SEES 15% RISE IN FOREX EARNINGS FROM FERROUS METAL EXPORTS IN 2018

Ukrainian metal companies saw a growth of 14.7% in foreign currency revenues from exports of ferrous metals in 2018 year-over-year, to $9.937 billion.
According to customs statistics published by the State Fiscal Service, the share of ferrous metals of total income from exports was 20.99% compared to 20.03% from a year ago.
In December 2018 alone, receipts from ferrous metal exports amounted to $760.141 million.
In 2018, Ukraine increased imports of similar products by 20.4%, to $1.367 billion including imports reaching $101.118 million in December.
In 2018, Ukraine increased metal products exports by 32.8%, to $1.11 billion including December deliveries being $85.976 million. In 2018, imports of metal products grew by 19.9%, to $967.674 million, including December imports worth $81.192 million.
As reported, in 2017, Ukraine saw its forex earnings from ferrous metal exports rise by 20%, to $8.666 billion. Ukraine saw imports of these products increase by 42%, to $1.135 billion.
Ukraine experienced a 30% rise in metal products exports in 2017, up to $896.7 million. Metal imports grew by 25% in 2017, to $806.8 million.
