Ukrainian entrepreneurs are able to export fish and fish products to Kuwait

Ukrainian entrepreneurs have been granted the opportunity to export fish and fish products to Kuwait, the press service of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection reports.

“This is the second foreign market for Ukrainian exporters that the Foreign Ministry and the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection are opening this week. The first was the Chinese market for honey producers, and now the Qatari market for fish and fish products. Negotiations with foreign partners to facilitate the entry of Ukrainian goods to foreign markets are ongoing. This is an important part of our work and a broader strategy to create new opportunities in the world for Ukrainian business,” said Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

According to Serhiy Tkachuk, head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the work on opening markets is ongoing, with the priority being Asia and North America.

The agency advised fish and fish products producers to familiarize themselves with the requirements for importing these products to Kuwait.

The health certificate for the export of marine and river aquatic animals (fish, mollusks, crustaceans, needlefish, including those grown on farms) and products from them from Ukraine to the State of Kuwait is published on the official web portal of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the section “International Cooperation”, heading “Certificates for export from Ukraine”.

The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection reminded that Ukraine has already agreed on the forms of bilateral certificates for exports of fish and fish products to the European Union, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Israel, Iraq, Kuwait, Moldova, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Ukrainian producers received right to export poultry to Canada and fish products to Turkey

Ukrainian producers in December 2022 got the right to export poultry and poultry products to Canada and fish products to Turkey, the website of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection (Derzhsprodpotrebbezopasluzhba) said on Wednesday.
According to her, the new markets for business are open thanks to the joint work of the department, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign embassies.
The relevant work to open the Canadian market for Ukrainian poultry meat and meat products began back in 2019, when representatives of the Canadian certification body CFIA conducted an inspection of the state production control system at Ukrainian enterprises. A list of Ukrainian companies that are now allowed to export poultry meat and poultry products to Canada has been added to the CFIA database, and requirements for importing meat products from Ukraine to Canada have been published on the organization’s official web portal.
According to the Service, in December Ukraine also received the right to export fish products to Turkey for export. The form of the relevant certificate has already been posted on the official web portal of the State Service of Ukraine for the Protection of Consumer Rights.
As reported, during the martial law in Ukraine has increased the number of enterprises-producers of products of animal origin, which have the right to export their products to the European Union. Their number increased by 33 (or 8.5%) compared with winter 2021 – up to 418 from 385. The number of Ukrainian exporters of dairy products increased the most – by 11, fish products – by six, snails and products from them – by five.

PRODUCTION OF FISH PRODUCTS AND CANNED FISH IN UKRAINE UP BY 36% IN JAN-JULY

Production of ready-to-use fish products and canned fish products in Ukraine increased in January-July 2021 by 36% compared to January-July 2020, to 8,300 tonnes, the State Fisheries Agency said on the website on Thursday evening.
The agency said with reference to the State Statistics Service that production of jerked, dried, salted or unsalted fish; salted fish (but not dried); fish in brine (except for smoked fish, fish fillets, fish heads, tails and bellies) in January-July 2021 amounted to 5,990 tonnes (more by 4% compared to January-July 2020). During this period, production of jerked and dried fish amounted to 2,820 tonnes (more by 9%), fish caviar – 2,140 tonnes (more by 30%), smoked fish – 2,370 tonnes (more by 10%), ready-to-use products and canned food from herring – 1,790 tonnes (more by 1%), and salted fish (except for herring) – 1,170 tonnes (more by 1.2%).
