Two people died as a result of the fall and catching fire of the Mi-2 helicopter in Mykolaiv region on Saturday morning, the press service of the State Emergency Service reported.
“At 06:08 on July 17, near the village of Zayve, Mykolaiv region, the Mi-2 (Meridian-Avia-Agro) helicopter crashed, followed by a fire, as a result of which two people (the pilot and the pilot’s assistant) died,” the service said on its website.
At 06:35, the fire was extinguished on an area of 6 square meters.
Eight people and two units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire and unlocking the dead.
The Aviation of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine this year has received the fifth out of 28 helicopters under a contract with the French company Airbus Helicopters, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said.
“Today, the National Guard has already in its arsenal four modern French aircraft. Their pilots have passed theoretical and practical training abroad. The helicopters perform civil protection tasks on the territory of Ukraine. In particular, they are involved in the operational movement of the National Guard personnel over long distances, performing certain tasks, evacuation of the sick and wounded, search and rescue measures. We make the country service-oriented to people and even safer,” he said.
The minister stressed that this is the fourth H-225 helicopter, which will begin to perform combat missions by units of the National Guard of Ukraine.
He also noted that the contract with Airbus Helicopters for the supply of 55 helicopters is being successfully implemented, and by the end of 2021 Ukraine will receive 28 helicopters as part of the formation and development of the aviation security system of the Interior Ministry.
Ukrainian Insurance Group (Kyiv) has paid UAH 126 million to PJSC Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP) for the Eurocopter EC145 helicopter that fell near Trukhaniv Island in Kyiv in September 2018, the insurer said on its website.
The payment was made under the compulsory insurance contract for civil aircraft, which covered the risks of complete loss and damage of the aircraft, including individual parts, systems and constructive parts, during taxing, in the air or on the ground (including parking).
The company said that specialists of Ukrainian Insurance Group, a representative of Myronivsky Hliboproduct and involved experts from United Loss Adjusters (the official representative of Sedgwick and Cunningham Lindsey in Ukraine) were directly involved in the settlement of the insured accident.
“The collaborative work of all parties in conducting numerous expert reviews and doing actions to assess the loss allowed Ukrainian Insurance Group to quickly settle this complex insured accident and pay insurance money. The total amount of insurance money received by MHP amounted to UAH 126 million,” the company said.
Ukrainian Insurance Group is a company with 100% foreign capital. It has been operating in the Ukrainian conventional insurance market since 2000, it is part of Vienna Insurance Group, the market leader in Central and Eastern Europe.
