KSG Agro agricultural holding increased the multicurrency credit line at TAScombank (Kyiv) from $12 million to $18.5 million, the company said in a report published on the website of the Warsaw Stock Exchange on Monday.
“We can use these lines for sowing and harvesting […] In addition, one of the goals of increasing the credit line is to refinance foreign exchange obligations and hedge currency risks,” Chairman of the Board of Directors of KSG Agro Serhiy Kasianov said.
He said that part of the funds is also planned to be used for further reconstruction and modernization of the pig breeding farm in the village of Nyva Trudova (Dnipropetrovsk region).
According to the report, hryvnia equivalent for the volume of the credit line is UAH 522 million, the term is three years. The interest rate was not disclosed.
As reported, in April 2020, KSG Agro increased the existing credit line at TAScombank by almost $4 million, to $12 million.
The vertically integrated holding KSG Agro is engaged in pig breeding and production, storage, processing and sale of grain and oilseeds.
The state-owned enterprise Ukrspyrt increased net profit 1.6 times, up to UAH 28.1 million, in January-September 2020 compared to the same period last year.
According to acting director of the state-owned enterprise Ukrspyrt Serhiy Bleskun, alcohol production increased by 19.6% up to 4.72 million decaliters in the nine months this year.
“We have a great trend since 2019, but the pace in the third quarter has slowed down. This was influenced by such objective factors as demonopolization (since July 1, buyers can buy alcohol from other state-owned producers) and the rise in the price for raw materials such as maize and wheat. This led to deterioration in profitability in the third quarter,” Bleskun wrote.
He also noted that over the past two weeks, the State Property Fund (SPF) has privatized three objects of the state-owned enterprise Ukrspyrt totaling almost UAH 160 million.
As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on December 11, 2019 signed a law on the abolition of state monopoly on alcohol production from July 1, 2020, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on December 3, 2019.
The State Property Fund expects to attract about UAH 2 billion from the privatization of alcohol producers of the state-owned enterprise Ukrspyrt and the concern Ukrspyrt. The first auction is scheduled for October 15, 2020.
Pivdenny commercial sea port (formerly Yuzhny, Odesa region), the largest seaport of Ukraine in terms of transshipment volume, increased transshipment by 21.4%, which is 46.932 million tonnes in January-September 2020 compared to the same period in 2019.
According to the data of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority published on its website, in the nine months the port increased the transshipment of export cargo by 26.4% to 35.775 million tonnes compared to January-September last year, import cargo by 9.5%, to 5.793 million tonnes, and transit cargo by 0.4%, to 5.062 million tonnes. Coastal cargoes were handled 17 times over, which accounted for 1.728 million tonnes.
In terms of the cargo nomenclature, the port increased the transshipment of liquid cargo by 23.4% up to 4.028 million tonnes, bulk materials by 22.3%, to 39.478 million tonnes, packaged goods by 10.2%, to 3.425 million tonnes.
Transshipment of containers for the specified period amounted to 181,737 TEU (up by 25.4%).
Pivdenny sea port was founded in 1978. It is located on the banks of the Adzhalyk estuary and is the deepest in Ukraine. The total length of the berths is about 2.6 km.
The major pipe enterprises of Ukraine in January-April 2018 increased production of pipes by 10.4% compared to the same period last year, to 356,900 tonnes, including in April they manufactured 89,300 tonnes.
The Ukrtruboprom association told Interfax-Ukraine that enterprises, which are members of the association, boosted production by 22.2% year-over-year, to 263,800 tonnes, including 68,900 tonnes made in April.
Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant (Donetsk region), located in the government uncontrolled zone, remained idle in January-April 2018, while in January-April 2017 it made 3,400 tonnes of pipes.
Pipe production at Interpipe Nyzhniodniprovsky Pipe Rolling Plant in the period rose by 27.8% compared to January-April 2017, to 98,400 tonnes (26,600 tonnes in April), Interpipe Novomoskovsk Pipe Plant increased output by 26.6%, to 34,300 tonnes (10,100 tonnes in April), while Interpipe Niko Tube raised production by 26.8%, to 116,300 tonnes (27,700 tonnes in April).
Dnipropetrovsk Pipe decreased pipe production by 11.9%, to 7,400 tonnes, making 2,500 tonnes in April. Production at Centravis grew by 10.2%, being 6,500 tonnes of stainless pipes (1,800 tonnes in April).
Pipe production at Trubostal remained unchanged, being 900 tonnes (200 tonnes in April).
Mariupol Illich Steel Works, which is not a member of the association, decreased pipe production by 2.7%, to 43,500 tonnes (8,400 tonnes in April), while Kominmet decreased it by 21%, to 46,600 tonnes (12,000 tonnes).
Luhansk Pipe Rolling Plant, created on the basis of Luhansk Pipe Plant, remained idle according to unofficial information.
