IC “InterExpress” increased premium collection by 21.5%, reduced payments by 1.35%

In 2023, InterExpress Insurance Company (Kyiv) collected insurance premiums in the amount of UAH 58.616 million, which is 21.15% more than a year earlier.

This is reported by the rating agency Standard-Rating on the update of the company’s credit rating / financial strength (reliability) rating of the insurer on the national scale at the level of uaAA.

Revenues from individuals for the year decreased by 5.20% to UAH 23.223 million, and revenues from reinsurers in the analyzed period amounted to only UAH 132 thousand. Despite the increase in premiums from individuals, the insurer’s client portfolio is dominated by legal entities, as indicated by their share in gross premiums, which amounted to 60.15% in 12 months of 2023.

Insurance payments sent to reinsurers decreased by 37.35% to UAH 4,649 million. Thus, the ratio of reinsurers’ participation in insurance premiums decreased by 7.41 p.p. to 7.93%.

The company’s net written premiums increased by 31.75% to UAH 53.967 million, while earned premiums increased by 22.13% to UAH 53.111 million.

The volume of payments and reimbursements made by the insurer in 2023 decreased by 1.35% compared to 2022 – to UAH 17.065 million. Thus, the level of payments decreased by 6.64 p.p. to 29.11%.

In the analyzed period, IC Interexpress’ activities were profitable, while the insurer’s financial results showed a significant increase. Thus, the operating profit of IC “Interexpress” increased by UAH 23.408 million to UAH 24.340 million, and the net profit – by UAH 19.153 million to UAH 20.005 million.

As of January 1, 2024, the insurer’s assets increased by 53.88% to UAH 73.695 million, equity – by 56.31% to UAH 58.721 million, liabilities increased by 45.07% to UAH 14.974 million, cash and cash equivalents – by 56.09% to UAH 10.088 million.

RA also notes that as of the reporting date, the company has formed a portfolio of current investments in government bonds in the amount of UAH 5,828 mln.

IC InterExpress will increase its authorized capital by 4.4 times

On November 30, the shareholders’ meeting of InterExpress Insurance Company (Kyiv) decided to increase its authorized capital from UAH 7.3 million to UAH 32.3 million through an additional issue of UAH 25 million, the company reported in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC).

According to the report, 2.5 thousand shares with a par value of UAH 10 thousand are planned to be sold during the private placement.

It is also specified that at the time of the decision, the company’s shareholders are Viktor Kushnir – 55.068% of shares, Lyudmila Rud – 9.863%, Valery Andreitsev – 7.671%, Elena Troyan – 9.863%, Victoria Kushnir – 8.904%.

According to the published information, UAH 23 million from the issue will be allocated to deposit accounts, and UAH 2 million will be used to update the website for online sales of insurance products.

As reported, InterExpress Insurance Company was registered in 2004 and specializes in risky types of insurance.

In January-September 2023, the company collected gross insurance premiums in the amount of UAH 41.278 million, which is 18.76% more than in the same period a year earlier. Net premiums collected by the company increased by 26.67% to UAH 37.835 million, and earned premiums increased by 14.09% to UAH 38.475 million.

The volume of claims paid by the insurer increased by 3.42% to UAH 12.894 million, while their level decreased by 4.63 p.p. to 31.24%.

The financial result from operating activities increased to UAH 8.249 million, while net profit increased to UAH 6.947 million.

As of September 30, 2023, the insurer’s assets increased by 9.10% to UAH 52.249 million, equity – by 13.10% to UAH 42.488 million, liabilities decreased by 5.43% to UAH 9.761 million, and cash and cash equivalents – by 12.46% to UAH 5.658 million.

IC “InterExpress” increased collection of premiums by 16.8%, payments by 1.3%

In January-June 2023, InterExpress Insurance Company (Kyiv) collected insurance payments in the amount of UAH 26.099 million, which is 16.79% more than in the same period a year earlier, according to the information of the rating agency Standard-Rating on updating the company’s credit rating / financial strength (reliability) rating of the insurer on the national scale at uaAA.

It is noted that revenues from individuals increased by 46.59% to UAH 10.626 million in the analyzed period, while revenues from reinsurers in the analyzed period amounted to only UAH 19 thousand.

Despite the increase in premiums from individuals, the insurer’s client portfolio is dominated by legal entities, as indicated by their share in gross premiums, which amounted to 59.22% in the first half of 2023.

Insurance payments sent to reinsurers in the first half of 2023 decreased by 28.33% to UAH 2,881 million compared to the same period in 2022. Thus, the ratio of reinsurers’ participation in insurance premiums decreased by 6.95 p.p. to 11.04%.

Net written premiums increased by 26.69% to UAH 23,218 million, while earned premiums increased by 3.56% to UAH 24,256 million.

The volume of payments and reimbursements made by the insurer in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period of 2022 increased by 1.33% to UAH 9.191 million. Given the higher growth rate of gross premiums compared to claims, the level of payments decreased by 5.37 p.p. to 35.22%.

It is also noted that the company’s activities in the analyzed period were profitable: for the first half of 2023, the financial result from operating activities amounted to UAH 2.306 million, and net profit amounted to UAH 2.497 million.

As of June 30, 2023, the company’s assets increased by 12.75% to UAH 53.997 million, equity showed an increase of 20.60% to UAH 45.307 million, liabilities decreased by 15.81% to UAH 8.690 million, cash and cash equivalents decreased by 35.94% to UAH 4.140 million.

The RA also notes that as of July 1, 2023, PrJSC IC “InterExpress” invested UAH 8,011 million in government bonds. The availability of such investments had a positive impact on the provision of PJSC IC “Interexpress” with liquid assets, which in total exceeded the insurer’s liabilities by 1.4 times.
