The Irish low cost airline Ryanair (Dublin) launches direct flights from Kherson to Krakow on December 21, 2019.
Flights will be operated twice a week, Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy said during a briefing after meeting with Ryanair Chief Commercial Officer David O’Brien in Kyiv.
Ryanair entered the Ukrainian market in 2018. The first months the low cost carrier operated flights from Boryspil and Lviv airports. In June 2019, the airline began flights from Kharkiv and Odesa.
As reported, Ryanair from April 2020 will begin to fly on the Lviv-Budapest route.
Ryanair daily operates over 2,400 flights to/from 200 airports located in 37 countries. Last fiscal year, the company transported 130.3 million people. Its fleet has 460 Boeing-737 aircraft.
The Irish low cost airline Ryanair (Dublin) from November 2019 will perform 113 flights a week to 40 destinations from Ukraine, which is 2 times more than the figure for November 2018 (52 flights, 17 destinations).
According to the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, 80 flights a week in 26 directions will be operated from Kyiv from November 2019.
Six flights per week will be operated from Kharkiv in three directions, 13 flights per week from Odesa in six directions (in November 2018, flights from these cities were not operated).
From Lviv, there will be 14 flights per week in five directions (the same number of flights was carried out in November 2018).
Irish-registered low-cost airline Ryanair (Dublin) transported 500,000 passengers from and to Kyiv’s Boryspil international airport since September 2018 and plans to double this figure until the end of 2019. This was announced by Olga Pawlonka, Ryanair’s international communications manager during the welcoming ceremony of the 500,000th passenger at Boryspil on Friday, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent said.
“We are developing at a very fast pace in Ukraine. We are thinking about opening directions from all cities of Ukraine. From winter there will be two new routes from Kharkiv, five new ones from Odesa. From the end of October, we will launch seven new routes from Kyiv. Now there are 17 routes from Kyiv , but from winter their number will be 24,” she noted. At the same time, answering a question about the possible opening of a representative office in Ukraine, Pawlonka said that this was impossible. “As Ryanair is a low-cost company, there is only one office in Dublin, from which operations around the world are handled. That is why it is impossible. This is impossible without value increase,” she explained.
As reported, Ryanair in May 2019 launched the Ukrainian version of its official website.
