Vitali Klitschko announced his choice for new secretary of Kyiv City Council

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced his choice for the new secretary of the Kyiv City Council.

“I have decided on a candidate for the new secretary of the Kyiv City Council and have invited all factions to join the discussion. After consultations, I will submit the candidacy of Zoya Yarosh, a deputy from the Voice faction, to the session hall for this position,” Klitschko wrote on Telegram.

Zoya Yarosh was born on December 9, 1976, in the village of Yelanets, Mykolaiv region.

In 2000, she graduated from Odessa State University named after I. I. Mechnikov with a degree in law. In 2006, she graduated from the Kyiv Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National

University of Kyiv with a degree in international law.

In 2020, she was elected to the Kyiv City Council of the 9th convocation from the Voice party. She is a member of the standing committee on architecture, urban planning, and land relations.

Klitschko announces opening of traffic on South Bridge in Kyiv from left to right bank

Kyiv’s Defense Council has allowed traffic on the South Bridge from the left to the right bank, while traffic from the right to the left bank will remain closed for now, and restrictions on traffic during air alert on the Podil Bridge and Darnytsia Railway Bridge will be partially lifted, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

“After consultations with the military, the Kyiv Defense Council allowed traffic on the South Bridge from the left to the right bank,” Klitschko said, as quoted by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) press service in a Telegram message on Wednesday.

Klitschko noted that traffic on the South Bridge from the right to the left bank will remain closed for the time being, except for emergency services, public transport, military vehicles, and transit freight transport.

According to him, traffic restrictions will also be partially lifted during the air raid alert at the Podilskyi bridge crossing and Darnytskyi railway bridge. Only one lane from the left to the right bank will be closed on these bridges during the air alert.

Thus, traffic will move without restrictions: North Bridge; Metro Bridge; Ovchinnikov Bridge; Paton Bridge. E.O. Paton Bridge; Darnytsia Railway Bridge (except for one lane); Podilskyi Bridge Crossing (except for one lane); and the South Bridge – from the left to the right bank.

Klitschko congratulated world champion Oleksandr Usyk on his victory

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko congratulated Ukrainian boxer and WBA, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) on his victory in the fight against British boxer Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).

“A worthy and brilliant victory! Oleksandr Usyk defended all his titles in professional boxing, including the absolute world heavyweight champion in the rematch,” he wrote in a telegram.

Klitschko called the fight between Usyk and Fury one of the most anticipated rematches in boxing history. “Very tense and emotional. Resonant long before the event. The Russian “experts” and “soothsayers” were especially foaming at the mouth. Congratulations, Oleksandr! This victory today is not only yours. This is a victory for Ukraine!” the mayor said.

Klitschko: EUR 500 thousand raised for creation of prosthetics center in Kyiv

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that EUR 500 thousand was raised for the creation of a prosthetics center in the capital during a charity fundraiser in Berlin.

“For our prosthetics center, which we are creating in Kyiv with the help of Berlin, we raised a total of EUR 500 thousand yesterday,” he wrote in his telegram channel on Thursday.

According to him, almost EUR305 thousand were donations in cash. “In addition, German business will provide, among other things, equipment to the prosthetics workshop for five additional employees,” he added.

Klitschko thanked the German benefactors, as well as the Life bridge Ukraine organization and its head Janine von Wolfersdorf, who, together with the Association of Berlin Merchants and Industrialists, organized a charity evening to raise funds for the prosthetics center.

“I am also grateful to the mayor of Kyiv’s sister city, Berlin, Kai Wegner, with whom we convinced Berlin businessmen of the importance of a joint project to create a prosthetics center in Kyiv,” Klitschko said.

Over 10 years, 570 parks and squares have been renovated and created in Kyiv – Klitschko

Since 2014, 570 squares and parks have been created and renovated in the capital, including Peremoha, Sovky, and Nyvky, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

“Since 2014, we have renovated and created a total of 570 parks and squares. From now on, Kyiv residents and guests of the capital, as well as families who took refuge in our city during the war, can walk along the breathtaking slopes of Volodymyrska Hill, the modern Kurenivskyi Park, and the renovated Peremoha, Sovky, and Nyvky parks, a new recreation area in Troyeshchyna, as well as a real green diamond of Kyiv – Natalka Park, which has already become part of a large recreational area that we continue to create in Obolon,” Klitschko wrote on his Telegram channel on Wednesday on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his mayoralty in the capital.

Klitschko has been the mayor of Kyiv since June 5, 2014.

Klitschko says construction of overpass at intersection of Bohatyrska and Polyarna streets to be completed in September

The construction of an overpass at the intersection of Bohatyrska and Polyarna streets in Kyiv is scheduled to be completed in September and traffic will be opened in May, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

“Work on the construction of an overpass at the intersection of Bohatyrska and Polyarna streets continues around the clock, seven days a week,” Klitschko wrote in his telegram channel.

Klitschko noted that it is planned to open traffic by May.

And it is planned to complete all the work on the site and fully open the traffic with exits by September this year, the mayor said.
