The Kids Team Fest charity festival took place at River Mall Park in Kyiv, bringing together more than 1,000 children and their families. The event was aimed at supporting children, developing corporate social initiatives, and creating a safe space for recreation and leisure.
The River Mall shopping and entertainment center served as the festival’s main partner, and River Mall Park served as the venue. Five hundred children, specially invited by the Darnytskyi District State Administration in Kyiv along with their families, participated in the event.
Among the guests were children from family-type orphanages, orphans, children deprived of parental care, children from families of internally displaced persons, children of Ukraine’s defenders, as well as children in foster care or living in families facing difficult life circumstances.
As part of the project’s charitable component, the River Mall team organized a lunch for 500 specially invited children. The “Yagotynske for Children” brand also joined the initiative, providing products for the festival’s young guests.
The entertainment program was prepared by the Kids Team children’s production center and the “Center of Goodness” Charitable Foundation. Participants enjoyed interactive games, performances by artists, festive activities, and a program tailored for children of all ages.
River Mall notes that participation in such initiatives is part of the shopping and entertainment center’s ongoing social activities. The mall regularly supports children’s projects and organizes spaces for leisure and creativity. In particular, free creative workshops are held every Saturday and Sunday at River Mall, attended by about 120 children.

A political debate has erupted in Bucharest over the name of a new park in the capital’s 4th Sector after local authorities proposed naming it after U.S. President Donald Trump and then put the matter to an online vote.
The proposal concerns the expansion of Tudor Arghezi Park on Metalurgiei Boulevard. Initially, Daniel Beluță, mayor of Bucharest’s 4th Sector, proposed naming the new section of the park “Donald J. Trump,” citing the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and the symbolism of the Romanian-American partnership. Following public criticism, he suggested that residents choose a name through an online poll.
The list of options included the names of Western and European politicians, among them Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Maia Sandu, Emmanuel Macron, Jacques Chirac, François Mitterrand, Václav Havel, Helmut Kohl, and Angela Merkel. According to Digi24, Maia Sandu held a commanding lead in the early stages of voting: after approximately 4,000 votes, she had garnered about 60%, while Trump had 16% and Barack Obama had 15%.
However, by the end of the online poll, the situation had changed. Mayor Daniel Băluță announced that, based on the results of the vote, the new section of the park would be named Donald J. Trump. According to HotNews, more than 28,000 people voted for this option, and a total of over 116,000 people participated in the vote on the names of the park and the ice arena. The next step should be the approval of the name by the local council of Sector 4.
Romanian media note that the vote was accompanied by controversy. Opposition representatives from the USR pointed to possible violations and drew attention to a sharp increase in the number of votes in favor of Trump on the night before the poll closed. According to HotNews, one of the USR’s advisors claimed that there were about 30,000 votes by Saturday evening, but by Sunday morning, the number had risen to about 70,000.
Thus, the initial reports of Maia Sandu’s lead were accurate only for the early stage of voting. According to the latest reports from Romanian media, Donald Trump emerged as the ultimate winner of the online poll, although the result still requires administrative approval.
The story garnered widespread attention because it turned the question of naming a district park in Bucharest into a symbolic debate about Romania’s foreign policy priorities, its relationship with the U.S. and Moldova, and the role of public consultations in local politics.
On August 23–24, the new 3.5-hectare city park on the Dnipro embankment, next to the River Mall shopping center, will host the autumn cycle of Ethnofest “Harvest.” The program includes performances by the Hryhoriy Veryovka National Academic Choir and the ShchukaRiba band, lectures, and children’s areas.
The park is located in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv and is designed as a venue for leisure and cultural events. The first festival at the new location, Ethnofest “Vytoky,” has already taken place after the opening and attracted thousands of guests, according to the organizers.

A new 3.5-hectare city park has been opened in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv next to the River Mall shopping center on the Dnipro embankment. The project was implemented entirely at the expense of the investor, River Mall, according to the shopping center’s press service.
“We believe that the city needs not only infrastructure but also meaning. That is why River Mall invests not only in retail space but also in open public spaces,” added the shopping center’s administration.
The architectural concept was developed by Tetiana Speranska in collaboration with the shopping center’s architects. The park is designed as a space for leisure, events, and walks on the banks of the Dnipro River.
Immediately after its opening, the location became the venue for the first event — the Vytoky Ethnofest, organized jointly with the Zagoriy Foundation.
The event was part of the cultural project vytoky.com and included traditional rituals, performances by folk groups, craft workshops, and interactive activities for children. According to the organizers, thousands of residents of the capital attended the festival.
According to the shopping center, the next event — the autumn cycle of Ethnofest called “Harvest” — will take place in the park on August 23–24. The program includes performances by the Hryhoriy Veryovka National Academic Choir and the ShchukaRiba band, bread baking workshops, lectures, a fair of traditional Ukrainian bread makers, children’s areas, and more.

Since 2014, 570 squares and parks have been created and renovated in the capital, including Peremoha, Sovky, and Nyvky, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
“Since 2014, we have renovated and created a total of 570 parks and squares. From now on, Kyiv residents and guests of the capital, as well as families who took refuge in our city during the war, can walk along the breathtaking slopes of Volodymyrska Hill, the modern Kurenivskyi Park, and the renovated Peremoha, Sovky, and Nyvky parks, a new recreation area in Troyeshchyna, as well as a real green diamond of Kyiv – Natalka Park, which has already become part of a large recreational area that we continue to create in Obolon,” Klitschko wrote on his Telegram channel on Wednesday on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his mayoralty in the capital.
Klitschko has been the mayor of Kyiv since June 5, 2014.
