UKRAINIAN LOW COST AIRLINE LAUNCHES FLIGHTS FROM KHARKIV TO KYIV

The Ukrainian low cost airline SkyUp Airlines (Kyiv) will launch direct regular flights from Kharkiv to Kyiv from October 25.
According to the company’s press service, flights will be operated three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The cost of a one-way ticket without baggage is from UAH 498.
“Thus, Kharkiv citizens will be able to fly to the capital with two air carriers: UIA and SkyUp Airlines,” the carrier said in a statement.
On October 29, SkyUp Airlines will resume flights to Sharjah (the UAE). Their cost will start from UAH 3,218 one way.
SkyUp Airlines LLC was registered in Kyiv in June 2016. The founder is ACS-Ukraine LLC of Tetiana and Yuriy Alba, who also own JoinUp! tour operator.

AZUR AIR UKRAINE LAUNCHES FLIGHTS FROM KYIV TO CUBA

Azur Air Ukraine, together with the tour operator ANEX Tour, launches direct charter flights from Kyiv to the Republic of Cuba (the resort city of Varadero) from October 25, 2019 until the end of April 2020.
This was reported by representatives of the airline, the tour operator and the embassy of the Republic of Cuba at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to ANEX Tour Operations Director Iryna Ohanezova, flights will be operated every ten days.
“All full vacation packages are on our website. Each tour package includes a flight, an insurance policy, a hotel, transfer. In addition to a standard vacation in Varadero, we also offer tours with several days in Havana,” she said.
According to participants in the press conference, the embassy of the Republic of Cuba was the initiator of launching direct flights.
“We have been working on the opening of direct flights from Ukraine for a long time. This issue was resolved in different ways. Finally, all efforts were united, and this idea became a reality,” Acting Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba Natacha Diaz Aguilera said.
Azur Air Ukraine began its operations in 2009. The company is based at Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv region), however, it offers flights from the regions: Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Lviv, and Odesa. Currently, the company operates only charter flights.

LARGEST GROWTH IN RETAIL TURNOVER IN JAN-SEPT IS RECORDED IN VINNYTSIA, TERNOPIL, KYIV

Retail trade turnover in Ukraine (legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) in January-September 2019 in comparable prices increased by 9.8% compared with January-September 2018, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to the report, in September 2019 compared with the previous month, retail trade turnover decreased by 3.3%, in annual terms grew by 8.6% (September 2019 from September 2018).
The largest growth in retail turnover in January-September 2019 compared to the same period in 2018 was recorded in Vinnytsia (by 17.6%), Ternopil (by 16.9%), Kyiv (by 15.7%) regions and Kyiv (by 14.7%).

ITALIAN ERNEST AIRLINES OPENS NEW OFFICE IN KYIV

Italy’s Ernest Airlines has opened an office in Kyiv in Podilsky district, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported on Friday.
The company’s new office will also host a call center.
Along with this, the airline announced the opening of a new Ernest Airlines base at Sikorsky Kyiv airport (Zhuliany) in April 2020, the launch of five new routes between Ukraine and Italy: Kyiv-Venice, Kyiv-Bari, Kyiv-Trieste, Lviv-Bologna and Milan-Odesa.
Thanks to the new office in Ukraine, Ernest Airlines plans to strengthen and expand cooperation with Ukrainian travel agencies and tour operators.
As reported, Ernest Airlines plans to invest EUR 100 million in Ukraine in two years and to deploy two aircraft in Kyiv in 2020.

UKRAINIAN LOW COST AIRLINE SKYUP STARTS FLIGHTS FROM KYIV TO LVIV

Ukrainian low cost airline SkyUp (Kyiv) on October 17 launched Kyiv-Lviv flights.
The press service of the airline reported that before October 26, 2019, the flights will be operated twice a week – on Thursdays and Sundays. From October 27, the number of flights will increase to four per week – on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The cost of a ticket without baggage starts from UAH 508.
“Today, we have launched flights between two Ukrainian cities with million population – Kyiv and Lviv… We will continue further developing internal flights, because this is one of the priority areas of our strategy,” the press service of SkyUp airlines said, citing CEO Yevhen Khainatsky.
In addition, SkyUp said that also on October 17, 2019, Kharkiv-Lviv flights were launched.
