SORATANO UKRAINE TO BUILD 100 MW WIND FARM IN BILHOROD-DNISTROVSKY DISTRICT OF ODESA REGION

Odesa Regional State Administration has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the wind energy company Soratano Ukraine LLC. According to the press service of the administration, the document provides for the construction of a wind power plant in Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky district of Odesa region. The total amount of investments is about EUR250 million.
“We’ve agreed to cooperate in the implementation of a project, which provides for the construction of a 100 MW power plant,” the press service said citing Head of Odesa Regional State Administration Maksym Stepanov.
The report also notes that the power plant is designed for 30 wind generators. The investor plans to complete the construction until 2020.
According to open data, the founder of Soratano Ukraine LLC is Cypriot SORATANO LTD, the ultimate beneficiary is a citizen of Belgium residing in Ukraine. At the same time, there are no online references to the implementation of such projects by these companies. As reported, Odesa Regional State Administration agreed to implement a similar project with little-known Ukraine Power Resources.

TWO COMPANIES FOUNDED BY AMERICAN AND LITHUANIAN CITIZENS TO BUILD WIND POWER PLANTS IN ODESA REGION

Ukraine Power Resources and Yuzhne Energy intend to build wind power plants with an installed capacity of 120 and 72 megawatts in the Lymansky district of Odesa region, the press service of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA) has said, following the signing of a memorandum between these companies and Odesa Regional State Administration.
According to UWEA estimates, the total investment in these two projects will be about EUR 270 million.
The press service did not say when the projects would be implemented.
Ukraine Power Resources was founded by American Peter A. Gish and Yuzhne Energy by Lithuanian Egidijus Simutis.

CHINESE ANHUI COMPANY INTERESTED IN BUILDING INDUSTRIAL PARK IN ODESA REGION

China’s Anhui Conch Cement Company Limited is interested in building a cement plant, a construction materials park and investing in tourism. The press service of the Odesa Regional Council reported that the issues were discussed at a meeting of Chairman of the Odesa Regional Council Anatoliy Urbansky with representatives of Chinese business. A delegation from China included the commercial consul of the General Consulate of China in Odesa, representatives of Anhui Conch Cement Company Limited and the Ukrainian branch of China Metallurgical Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. The Odesa Regional Council expressed its readiness to consider all investment proposals of Chinese businessmen.
China Metallurgical Construction Engineering Group is a large company in China. It is involved in construction of industrial and civil facilities in China and abroad. Anhui Conch Cement Company Limited produces and sells cement and commodity clinker. Its products are exported to over 20 countries, including the United States and the EU.

UKRAINE POWER RESOURCES VOWS TO ATTRACT EUR 140 MLN IN WIND POWER IN ODESA REGION

Ukraine Power Resources plans to build a wind power plant in Odesa region, Odesa Regional State Administration’s press service has reported.
According to the report, the construction of wind turbines is to begin this autumn. According to the project, it is planned to place 26 wind turbines with a total capacity of 100 megawatts in Lymansky district between the villages of Vyzyrka and Liubopil. Representatives of the company have already met with the leadership of the communities and villages located around the territory where it is planned to implement the project, the regional administration said.
“We have chosen Odesa region, because it has excellent natural wind resources. We are now choosing a turbine manufacturer and holding talks with investors who can provide the financing. EUR 140 million in investment will be attracted at the first stage of the project. In October we will get a building permit and immediately start it,” Ukraine Power Resources CEO Peter Gish said.
According to the company’s website, Gish is a co-founder of Ukraine Power Resources. Over the last two decades, he has successfully participated in the development of over 2.1 GWs of wind power capacity in six countries.
