On May 24-26, 2023, the annual international scientific-practical conference “Filatov Readings – 2023” will be held, which is registered in the State Non-Commercial Enterprise “Center for Testing the Professional Competence of Specialists with Higher Education in the Fields of “Medicine” and “Pharmacy” under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” and accredited by EACME. In addition to specialists from Ukrainian regions, leading ophthalmologists from Belgium, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Armenia, Greece, Egypt, Israel, Spain, China, Moldova, Netherlands, Germany, UAE, Poland, Portugal, Romania, USA, Turkey, Hungary, France, Switzerland, and Egypt will also participate.
The reports will discuss modern approaches and methods of diagnostics and treatment of eye diseases using the latest technologies. The scientific-practical conference with international participation “Filatov Readings-2023” is organized by “Ukrainian Society of Ophthalmologists” Public Organization and State Institution “Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy named after A.N. Shupik. The program of the scientific-practical conference is dedicated to the priority problems of ophthalmology: corneal and anterior eye diseases, post-traumatic eye pathology, including combat trauma, cataract surgery, neuro-ophthalmology, ophthalmo-oncology, vitreoretinal pathology, pediatric ophthalmopathology, refractive and accommodation disorders, glaucoma and reconstructive surgery. Thus the scientific-practical conference with international participation “Filatov Readings-2023” will bring together well-known scientists, researchers, practitioners and specialists of related fields in order to exchange experience, expand professional contacts and business relations, which will contribute to the main result of medical science – improvement of public health and prevention of eye diseases.

Odessa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov, who was taken into custody as part of the investigation into the case of Odessa’s Krayn plant, has been released from a pre-detention center. A bail of 13.4 million UAH was paid for him, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) told the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
“The mayor of Odessa came out of the detention center on a bail of 13.420 million UAH, determined earlier by the court as an alternative to arrest,” – said in the SAP.
At the same time, the prosecutor’s office did not specify who exactly paid the amount of bail.
As reported, on May 4, the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov was taken into custody as part of the investigation of the case of the Odessa plant “Kraiyan”
“The case of Odessa “Krayan” – the mayor of Odessa was taken into custody. Details later,” the SAP reported in its Telegram channel on Thursday.
Later, the prosecutor’s office specified: “On May 4, 2023, the panel of judges of the VAKS granted the request of the SAP prosecutor to change the measure of restraint of one of the defendants in the case of Odessa “Krayan” – the city head of Odessa.”
According to the SAP, given that the accused did not pay 30.866 million UAH bail determined by the court, the prosecutor applied to the court to change the measure of restraint from bail to detention with an alternative to bail.
“VAKS, having heard the arguments of the parties, partially satisfied the petition and applied to the accused a measure of restraint in the form of detention for 60 days with the alternative of paying 13.420 million UAH as bail. In execution of the court decision, the accused was taken into custody in the courtroom,” – stated in the message.
In the SAP reminded that the Odessa mayor and others are accused of misappropriation of budget funds in the amount of more than 92 million UAH as a result of the implementation of the scheme for the acquisition of municipal property of the administrative building of the former plant “Krayn” at twice the inflated price.
The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed corruption of the head of the Odessa department of expertise and research specialized laboratory of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
According to the website of the security service on Saturday, the official has established a mechanism of systematic extortion of money from businessmen.
“For a bribe, the official promised importers of food products not to create artificial obstacles during the examination of the quality of foreign goods imported into Ukraine.
