Ukraine in January-March this year increased imports of aluminum ores and concentrate (bauxite) in quantity terms by 6% compared to the same period last year, to 1.303 million tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, during this period, bauxite imports in monetary terms increased by 11.8%, to $59.853 million.
At the same time, imports were carried out mainly from Guinea (56.17% of supplies in monetary terms), Brazil (25.86%) and Ghana (17.12%).
In January-March 2021, Ukraine re-exported 71 tonnes of bauxite for $15,000 to Poland (80%) and Germany (20%).
Mykolaiv Alumina Refinery LLC imports bauxite into Ukraine, the company is affiliated with United Company RUSAL (Russia). Alumina is produced from bauxite.
Ukraine in January-February of this year reduced exports of titanium-containing ores and concentrate in quantity terms by 39.5% compared to the same period last year, to 74,694 tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service on Tuesday, in monetary terms, exports of titanium-containing ores and concentrate decreased by 19.3%, to $22.109 million.
At the same time, main exports were carried out to China (35.97% of supplies in monetary terms), Turkey (23.48%) and the Czech Republic (12.07%).
During this period, Ukraine imported 100 tonnes of titanium-containing ores from Senegal in the amount of $89,000, while in January-February 2020 it imported from this country 146 tonnes of titanium-containing ores worth $102,000.
Ukraine reduced imports of manganese ore and concentrate in physical terms by 51.9% in 2020 compared to the previous year, to 581,178 tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service on Tuesday, in monetary terms, imports of manganese ore and concentrate decreased 63.7% over the period to $76.534 million.
At the same time, the main import was recorded from Ghana (88.76% of deliveries in monetary terms), the Russian Federation (8.26%) and South Africa (2.88%).
In 2020, Ukraine exported 69,303 tonnes of manganese ore and concentrate (an increase of 2.1 times compared to 2019) for the amount of $10.819 million, while in 2019 – 33,225 tonnes for $3.307 million. Export and re-export was to the United States (88.03% of supplies), the Czech Republic (10.25%) and Hungary (1.16%).
