PORTUGAL WILL PROVIDE UKRAINE WITH UP TO 250 MILLION EUROS IN SUPPORT

Portugal will provide Ukraine with up to 250 million euros in financial support. The corresponding memorandum was signed on Saturday in Kyiv by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal and the Prime Minister of Portugal Antonio Costa.
“Ukraine should receive the first tranche of up to 100 million euros this year. This will help Ukraine maintain macroeconomic stability during the war and allow it to recover soon after our victory. Thank you Portugal for this support!” Shmygal wrote in a telegram channel.

PORTUGAL OPENS FOR UKRAINIANS

Portugal will open entry for Ukrainians from July 26 in accordance with the recommendations of the EU Council, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
“Portugal opens from July 26 for all types of travel of Ukrainians according to the recommendation of the EU Council. Country by country we are returning the full effect of visa-free travel with the European Union,” Kuleba wrote on his Twitter microblog on Sunday, July 25.
Kuleba said that before buying tickets, it is necessary to check all the conditions for entering the country according to the interactive map of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

UKRAINE MAY TIGHTEN CONTROL OVER VISITORS FROM UK, INDIA, RUSSIA, PORTUGAL TO PREVENT DELTA STRAIN SPREAD

The government is exploring the possibility of strengthening control over visitors from the UK, India, Russia and Portugal to prevent the circulation of the “Delta” (Indian) strain of coronavirus (COVID-19), Health Minister Viktor Liashko said.
“At the Cabinet of Ministers we considered the possibility of strengthening control over people who come from four countries, Great Britain, India, Russia and Portugal, where the greatest circulation of the so-called Delta virus,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.
As noted by Liashko, the peculiarity of the Delta strain is that it is transmitted faster and leads to hospitalization faster.
“This leads to the fact that hospitals fill up rather quickly, in particular, we see this in Russia,” he said.

BORSCHAHIVKA PHARMA PLANT TO START SUPPLYING API TO PORTUGAL

PJSC Research and Industrial Center Borschahivka chemical and pharmaceutical plant will export a natural active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) for a medicine in the European Union (EU), the company has said in a press release.
The plant will export belladonna extract to Portugal. The API will be the basis of the patent medicine produced and sold in this country. The API was designed in own research laboratory of the plant in line with the requirements of the customer in short terms.
“An indispensable condition for establishing cooperation was the passage of an external independent audit on the conformity of production and extraction technologies to the requirements of European quality standards, including GMP. The enterprise successfully passed the audit and confirmed that it is a modern and reliable partner for European colleagues,” the plant said.
The plant’s extracts are used by the company to manufacture a number of its own medicines, and also are purchased by other domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers.
As reported, in 2017, the plant started exporting its products to Australia, Estonia and Portugal. Currently, the plant exports its products to 19 countries, including Lithuania, Latvia and the CIS countries. The share of exports of total sales in 2017 was 12.2%.
