Not a single tree will be destroyed during the construction of the “presidential university” on the territory of the state Expocentre of Ukraine (VDNH, Kyiv), Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet said.
“There will be no construction in the park there, not a single tree to be destroyed,” he said at a press conference during the “Ukraine 30. Education and Science” All-Ukrainian Forum on Tuesday, June 1.
The minister said that the construction of the new university is fully in line with the concept of VDNH development.
As reported, on May 31, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the creation of the presidential University of Information and Cybersecurity.
According to the Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet, the construction of the presidential University on the territory of the state Expocentre of Ukraine (VDNH, Kyiv), will cost UAH 7.2 billion in three years.

A separate cluster dedicated to the study of biotechnology, in particular, countering biological threats, will be created at the Presidential University of Information and Cybersecurity, Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko said.
“A separate cluster at the President’s University will be devoted to biotechnology: biological threats, chronic non-infectious diseases, aging of the population, many pathogens that cause diseases in humans and animals. These are all the threats for which we must prepare,” he said at the All-Ukrainian Forum entitled “Ukraine 30. Education and Science” on Monday.
According to him, this cluster will include: School of Biotechnology, Center for Clinical Research, National Health Research Center, Higher School of Medicine, BSL-3 laboratory, School of Public Health, and Center for Safe Professional Development.
As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the creation of a presidential University, which will study information and cyber security, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, aerospace, energy and biotechnology.
The decree has not been made public yet.
Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet says that the construction of the Presidential University on the territory of the state Expocentre of Ukraine (VDNH, Kyiv) will cost UAH 7.2 billion in three years.
“Geographically, the location is 16 hectares at Expocentre of Ukraine […] In general, the development of the Presidential University together with the biocluster and the bioclinic is a logical completion of the spatial development of the Expocentre territory, so that students have an opportunity to use all infrastructure facilities at the same time,” he said on press conference during the All-Ukrainian forum “Ukraine 30. Education and Science” on Monday.
According to the presented concept, the territory of the University will occupy 16 hectares, the total building area – 25,800 square meters.
There will be 11 campuses on the territory of the institution, including: five specialized scientific campuses, an administrative building, an apart-hotel for students, an apart-hotel for teachers, a hospital, a diplomatic service and a building with offices of foreign companies.
The minister noted that the implementation of the concept over three years with the preparation of documentation, new construction, and the primary necessary equipment will cost UAH 7.2 billion.
