UKRAINE PRODUCES 4,920 TONNES OF SUGAR

As of September 3, sugar production in Ukraine amounted to 4,920 tonnes, a total of 49,600 tonnes of sugar beet were processed.
According to a report on the website of the National Association of Sugar Producers Ukrtsukor, on the indicated date two sugar factories were opened – Selysche sugar refinery (Selysche, Cherkasy region, part of the agricultural holding Panda) and Haisyn sugar refinery (Vinnytsia region, Ukrprominvest-Agro).
As of September 6, the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food does not have data on harvest of sugar beets by Ukrainian farmers.
As reported, the current season of sugar beet processing started in the country on August 21.
The Ministry of Economy expects sugar production in Ukraine in the 2021/2022 marketing year (MY, September-August) at 1.4 million tonnes, which is 30% more than in the last MY. The total supply of this product in the current season will amount to 1.74 million tonnes due to the growth of its production in the current MY and its significant residues (0.42 million tonnes) transferred from the last MY, which will be sufficient to meet the domestic demand, which is approximately 1.25 million tonnes.

ZAPORIZHIA AUTOMOBILE BUILDING PLANT PRODUCES 1,742 CARS IN 2021

JSC Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant (ZAZ) in January-May of this year produced 1,742 passenger cars, while in the same period of 2020 – none, according to the statistics of the Ukrautoprom association.
At the same time, the plant produced 417 passenger cars in May, compared to 472 passenger cars in April this year.
The plant also produced 39 buses over the five months versus 13 buses a year earlier.
According to the statistics of the association, the second Ukrainian manufacturer of passenger cars, the Eurocar plant (Zakarpattia region), in January-May produced 1,796 Skoda passenger cars using the SKD assembly method, which is 35.5% more than in the same period last year, including 527 cars produced in May (6 times more than in May 2020).
As reported, taking into account these production indicators of the two plants, the production of passenger cars in Ukraine in January-May increased 2.7-fold, to 3,538 cars.
ZAZ is a leading automobile manufacturing plant with the capacity for full-scale production of automobiles. The plant is part of the Ukrainian Automobile Corporation (UkrAVTO), owned by Tariel Vasadze.
The corporation’s brand portfolio includes passenger cars Chery, Lada, Chevrolet, Kia, Renault, as well as Mercedes, Jeep, Maserati, and buses of several classes.

UKRAINE PRODUCES ALMOST 900,000 TONNES OF SUGAR BY DEC 4

Sugar production in Ukraine as of December 3 amounted to 894,700 tonnes.
According to a report on the website of the National Association of Sugar Producers Ukrtsukor, as of this date, 30 sugar factories operate in the country, which processed 6.75 million tonnes of sugar beet.
As earlier reported with reference to Ukrtsukor, the sugar beet processing season started in the country on September 5.
Sugar production in Ukraine in 2020 is forecasted at 1.2 million tonnes, which is 15% less than a year earlier.
As of November 30, 2020, Ukrainian agricultural producers harvested 9 million tonnes of sugar beet from an area of 212,200 hectares (98%).

UKRAINE ALREADY PRODUCES MORE THAN 200,000 TONNES OF SUGAR

Sugar production in Ukraine as of October 16, 2020 amounted to 211,600 tonnes.
According to a report on the website of the Ukrtsukor National Association of Sugar Producers, as of that date, 26 sugar factories were operating in the country, which have processed 1.6 million tonnes of sugar beets.
As reported with reference to Ukrtsukor, the sugar beet processing season in Ukraine started on September 5.
Sugar production in the country in 2020 is projected at 1.2 million tonnes, which is 15% less than a year earlier. It is expected that 33 sugar factories will operate this season, at the level of last year.
According to the State Statistics Service, in 2020 areas under sugar beets amounted to 218,900 hectares, at the level of the last year.

UKRAINE PRODUCES 8,000 TONNES OF SUGAR

Sugar production in Ukraine as of September 14, 2020 amounted to 7,950 tonnes.
According to the report of the Ukrtsukor National Association of Sugar Producers, published on its website, as of this date, three sugar factories were operating in the country, which have processed 80,900 tonnes of sugar beets so far.
The sugar beet processing season in Ukraine started on September 5.
As reported, with reference to Ukrtsukor, sugar production in the country in 2020 is projected at the level of 1.2-1.3 million tonnes, which is 15% less than a year earlier.
It is expected that 33 sugar factories will operate this season, at the level of last year.

CHERKASY AZOT PRODUCES 1.42 MLN TONNES OF NITROGEN FERTILIZERS

PJSC Azot (Cherkasy), part of Dmytro Firtash’s Group DF, produced 1.42 million tonnes of nitrogen fertilizers in January-November 2019, which is 9.2% more than for the whole of 2018, Group DF’s press service has said.
According to a press release, production of ammonium nitrate for the reporting period amounted to 417,500 tonnes, carbamide some 557,200 tonnes, carbamide-ammonia mixture some 438,100 tonnes. At the same time, production of ammonia was 55,700 tonnes, non-concentrated nitric acid some 507,200 tonnes, and ammonia water some 9,200 tonnes.
“In 2019, we achieved almost 100% loading of our production capacities. The growth in production volumes by the end of the year will be about 10% … For the 11 months of this year, we increased production of carbamide-ammonia mixture by 81% compared to the corresponding period last year (from 240,900 tonnes to 438,100 tonnes). Carbamide production increased by 55%. Nitrate production also increased, but only slightly,” Group DF’s press service said citing Vitaliy Skliarov, the chairman of the company’s board.
Among the main growth factors, the company indicates the antidumping measures of the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade regarding the supply of fertilizers from the Russian Federation.
