KYIVSKY CARDBOARD PAPER MILL SEES 18% RISE IN PRODUCTION IN 2018

Kyivsky cardboard paper mill (Obukhiv, Kyiv region), a leader in Ukraine’s pulp and paper industry in terms of production and sales, produced goods worth UAH 2.149 billion in January-May 2018, which was 18.4% up year-over-year. Thus, production in the first five months of 2018 somewhat slowed compared to the same period last year (production growth in January-April was 26.7% and in January-March 30%), the UkrPapir association said.
Corrugated packaging output grew by 11.2%, to 93.5 million square meters, which was the second highest result among producers of corrugated packaging in Ukraine after Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill in Luhansk region (with Trypilsky packaging plant).
Production of cardboard increased by 15.7%, to 85,400 tonnes. Production of package cardboard alone grew by 31%, to 58,900 tonnes, while box cardboard output fell by 8.2%, to almost 26,550 tonnes. However, production of base paper (for sanitary products) stood at 31,500 tonnes, which was the same as a year ago. Toilet paper output grew by 7%, to 174.9 million rolls. Corrugated packaging output in total in Ukraine (including other producers) grew by 8.4% January through May 2018, to 416.94 million square meters, that of paper and cardboard increased by 12.5%, to 395,650 tonnes.
Kyivsky cardboard paper mill is one of the largest cardboard and paper producers in Europe. It employs almost 2,200 people. It sells produce to almost 700 companies in Ukraine, some CIS member states and the rest of the world. In 2017, the mill saw a 14.8% rise in production from 2016, to UAH 4.85 billion.

UKRAINIAN SPACE INDUSTRY INCREASES PRODUCTION IN Q1 BY 12.7%

Enterprises of the space industry of Ukraine in January-March increased production in comparison with the same period in 2017 by 12.7%, to UAH 884.4 million, the press service of the State Space Agency of Ukraine has reported. The volume of sales in the first quarter increased by 12.3%, to UAH 892 million. The total volume of gross output for the reporting period of 2018 exceeded UAH 1.462 billion, comparative figures for the last year’s reporting period are not available in the report.
According to the State Space Agency of Ukraine, the volume of the rocket and space industry’s gross output in the first quarter of 2018 rose by 21.2% compared to the same period in 2017, to UAH 52.2 million. Work under the state order was conducted by two enterprises: Pavlohrad Chemical Plant and Ukrkosmos.
The share of exports in the total volume of sales for the reporting period was 32%, while in the total volume of exports some 84.7% to the EU, the United States and other countries.
According to the data provided, seven enterprises posted profit in the first quarter. In particular the net profit of state enterprise Pavlohrad Chemical Plant amounted to UAH 33.66 million, that of PJSC Hartron some UAH 630,000, state enterprise Pivdenmash some UAH 100,000, Dniprovsky Design Institute some UAH 100,000, and Scientific and Research Technological Institute of Instrument Making some UAH 100,000.

GADZ FARM TO START PRODUCTION OF JUICE, PUREE, JAM, MARMALADE, BABY FOOD IN 2019

Gadz Farm (Ternopil region) intends to start production of juice, puree, jam, marmalade and baby food in 2019.
“This year we plan to sign an agreement on cooperation with foreign companies that produce equipment for processing fruits and vegetables. Next year we intend to launch production of juice, puree, jam and marmalade at full capacity. In addition, we will develop production of baby food for different age groups, depending on the needs of children,” the report said.
Currently, the leadership of Gadz is negotiating with the representatives of the Italian companies FME and Navatta Group on the supply of new special equipment and the selection of packaging technologies for products.
Gadz farm was established in 2011. It specializes in cultivation of fruits and berries, the sale of seedlings. It has more than 600 hectares of orchards (apples, pears, plums). In future it plans to expand the garden area to 2,500 hectares.

Kyivsky cardboard paper mill (Obukhiv, Kyiv region), a leader in Ukraine’s pulp and paper industry in terms of production and sales, produced goods worth UAH 1.323 billion in the first quarter of 2018, which was 30.2% up year-over-year (y-o-y).
Thus, production in the first three months of 2018 somewhat slowed compared to the same period last year (production growth in January was 36% and that in January-February was 34.3%), the UkrPapir association said.
Corrugated packaging output grew by 18%, to 55.8 million square meters, which was the second highest result among producers of corrugated packaging in Ukraine after Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill in Luhansk region (with Trypilsky packaging plant).
Production of cardboard increased by 35%, to 55,800 tonnes. Production of package cardboard alone grew by 45.7%, to 35,840 tonnes, while box cardboard output rose by 18.7%, to almost 19,000 tonnes.
However, production of base paper (for sanitary products) stood at 18,380 tonnes, which was 1.7% down y-o-y. Toilet paper output grew by 8%, to 103.9 million rolls.
Corrugated packaging output in total in Ukraine (including other producers) grew by 12% January through March 2018, to 246.56 million square meters, that of paper and cardboard increased by 16.4%, to 234,230 tonnes.

Q1 STATISTICS ON UKRAINIAN PRODUCTION OF MILK, MEAT, EGG

Production of milk in Ukraine in January-March 2018 (excluding the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, part of the ATO zone) decreased by 1% compared to the same period in 2017, to 1.946 million tonnes. The State Statistics Service said egg production in the first quarter of 2018 grew by 2.3%, year-over-year, to 5.511 billion units.
Production of meat (live weight) in the first three months of 2018 fell by 0.3%, to 790,000 tonnes.
As reported, with reference to statistics, milk production in Ukraine in 2017 decreased by 0.5% compared to 2016, to 10.329 million tonnes, meat (in live weight) by 0.4%, to 3.259 million tonnes. Production of eggs in 2017 rose by 3.2%, to 15.578 billion units.

UKRAINE CUTS GAS PRODUCTION IN Q1, 2018

Production of natural gas in Ukraine in January-March 2018, according to live data, decreased by 0.7% (by 36.9 million cubic meters) compared to the same period in 2017, to 5.101 billion cubic meters, according to data from PJSC Ukrtransgaz. According to calculations by Interfax-Ukraine, in particular gas production by PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia amounted to 3.763 billion cubic meters (1.8% up from January-March 2017), PJSC Ukrnafta to 261.2 million cubic meters (16% down), by other companies to 1.076 billion cubic meters (4.8% down).
In March 2018, gas production amounted to 1.735 billion cubic meters (2.5% down compared to March 2017), in particular extraction by Ukrgazvydobuvannia was 1.289 billion cubic meters (0.1% up), Ukrnafta some 88.6 million cubic meters (16.2% down), other companies some 357.7 million cubic meters (7.3% down).
Ukrtransgaz, 100% owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates a system of trunk gas pipelines and 12 underground gas storage facilities of the country with a total capacity of 31 billion cubic meters.
