NEW MARKETS OF 24 STATES COULD OPEN FOR POULTRY PRODUCTS FROM UKRAINE

Now new markets for Ukrainian products are opening today, and the compatibility of the poultry exports public supervision system is being assessed, and in 2019-2020 it is expected that markets of 24 states will open, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumers’ Rights Protection has said. According to a report on the website of the authority, over the past two years, 21 countries have opened new markets for Ukrainian poultry products. In particular, the markets of 14 countries were opened for the export of poultry meat and products and the markets of seven countries for the export of eggs and egg products. As reported, in the middle of December 2018, Ukraine and Morocco agreed on a veterinary certificate for the export of Ukrainian egg products, and in November, Ukraine and Tunisia – for the export of Ukrainian poultry meat.

LARGE PRODUCER OF HOME AND PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS FROM UKRAINE STARTS SUPPLIES TO POLAND RETAIL CHAIN

The Biosphere Corporation (Dnipro), a large producer of home and personal care products, has entered the Polish market, signing an agreement on supplies of moist wipes Smile under the license of The Walt Disney Company and Universal with the Biedronka retail chain. “Biosphere Corporation entered the Polish market with a contract with the Biedronka chain. In one of the largest Polish networks, which includes more than 2,800 stores across the country, 15 names of the Smile brand will be presented under the license of The Walt Disney Company and Universal. Thus, the Smile brand was the first in Poland with an official license from the two largest Western studios. In the nearest future the corporation plans to enter other chains of this country,” the press service of the Biosphere Corporation said.
The corporation was also informed about the exclusive license from The Walt Disney Company and Universal, with which it has been cooperating since 2012, for using cartoon characters on the moist wipes Smile on the Polish market.
Biosphere Corporation, which has been operating in Ukraine for over 20 years, is the leader in the production and distribution of home and personal care products in Ukraine and the CIS. Its products are represented on some 20 markets in Europe and Asia. In the product portfolio the company has more than 2,000 items.

UKRAINE BOOSTS OUTPUT OF ROLLED STEEL PRODUCTS BY 4%

Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises boosted total rolled steel production by 4% in January-August 2018 year-over-year, to 12.265 million tonnes.
Steel output increased by 2%, to 14 million tonnes, that of pig iron by 7%, to 13.645 million tonnes, the Ukrmetprom Association said on Tuesday.
At the same time, relative indicators of output in January-August 2018 compared to January-August 2017 excluding two months’ work of enterprises in uncontrolled territories in eastern Ukraine were higher: the output of rolled steel increased by 8%, that of steel by 5%, and pig iron by 11%.
In August 2018, Ukraine’s metallurgy produced 1.733 million tonnes of pig iron (98% as compared to July 2018), 1.806 million tonnes of steel (99.5%), 1.515 million tonnes of rolled steel (101%).
In 2017, Ukraine reduced steel production by 12% from 2016, to 21.284 million tonnes, while production of rolled steel was 18.439 million tonnes (a 14% decline) and that of pig iron was 20.035 million tonnes (a 15% decline).

ENERGOMASHSPETSSTAL TO FINISH PROJECT TO MAKE SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCTS FOR TURKEY’S NPP BY JUNE

Public joint-stock company Energomashspetsstal (EMSS, Kramatorsk, Donetsk region), the owner of which is Russia’s Atomenergomash of Rosatom Corporation, plans to supply the last semi-finished products under a project on production of semi-finished products for equipment of reactor one of Turkey’s Akkuyu nuclear power plant (NPP). According to a posting on the website of EMSS, under the contract, which cost is not disclosed, hundreds of semi-finished products for the reactor’s case, steam generator, pressurizer and the upper unit were made and inspected with participation of specialists from the NBPP and Turkish Atomic Energy Authority (TAEK). The company said that in 2015, EMSS successfully passed the TAEK inspection and in January 2016 it was the first company which received the certificate for making semi-finished products for the Akkuyu NPP.
The Akkuyu NPP is being built in Turkey on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The project includes four reactors with a capacity of 1,200 MW each. It is planned that after the completion of construction the NPP will generate around 35 billion kWh of electricity a year. The operation life of the NPP is 60 years.
