Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises in June 2019 reduced steel production by 3% compared to the same period in 2018, to 1.659 million tonnes, thus remaining on the 13th position in the ranking of 64 major global manufacturers of these products, compiled by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel). An increase in steel production in half of the top ten countries, except for South Korea, Russia, Germany, Turkey and Brasil, was recorded in June 2019 compared to June 2018.
The top ten producer countries in June are as follows: China (87.533 million tonnes, an increase of 10%), India (9.336 million tonnes, an increase of 4%), Japan (8.789 million tonnes, an increase of 0.4%), the United States (7.276 million tonnes, an increase of 3.1%), South Korea (5.958 million tonnes, a decrease of 2.6%), the Russian Federation (5.875 million tonnes, a decrease of 2.6%), Germany (3.405 million tonnes, a drop of 5.8%), Brazil (2.823 million tonnes, a decrease of 3.1%), Turkey (2.698 million tonnes, a decrease of 11%), and Iran (2.165 million tonnes, an increase of 6.1%).
They are followed by Italy (2.086 million tonnes, a drop of 2.5%), Taiwan (China, 1.960 million tonnes, a decrease of 0.3%) and Ukraine (1.659 million tonnes, a drop of 3%).
Overall, in June 2019, 64 countries produced 158.978 million tonnes of steel, which is 4.6% more than in June 2018.
Through January-June 2019, sixty-four countries produced 925.064 million tonnes of steel, which is 4.9% more than in the same period last year.

An increase in steel production in most of the top ten countries, except for Japan, Russia, Germany and Brazil was recorded in April.
The top ten producer countries in April are as follows: China (85.032 million tonnes, an increase of 12.7%), India (8.785 million tonnes, an increase of 1.5%), Japan (8.647 million tonnes, a decline of 0.8%), the United States (7.428 million tonnes, an increase of 7.3%), South Korea (5.978 million tonnes, an increase of 1.4%), the Russian Federation (5.6 million tonnes, a decrease of 8.3%), Germany (3.358 million tonnes, a drop of 8.7%) , Turkey (3.044 million tonnes, an increase of 2.6%), Brazil (2.886 million tonnes, a fall of 1.9%) and Iran (2.165 million tonnes, an increase of 2.8%).
They are followed by Italy (1.950 million tonnes, a fall of 5.7%), Ukraine (1.938 million tonnes, an increase of 12.6%) and Taiwan (China, 1.930 million tonnes, a fall of 5%).
In April, 64 countries produced 156.671 million tonnes of steel, which is 6.4% more than in April 2018.
In January-April 2019, 64 countries produced 599.857 million tonnes of steel, which is 4.8% more than in the same period last year.
The most popular presidential candidates are showman Volodymyr Zelensky, Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko and incumbent President Petro Poroshenko, according to a poll conducted by the Sociological Monitoring Center, the Yaremenko Ukrainian Institute of Social Research, Info Sapiens and the Rating Group Ukraine.
According to the results of the survey presented in the Kyiv-based Interfax-Ukraine news agency, 81% of those polled said they would vote in the presidential elections, with 45% saying they would definitely vote, and 36% saying they would most likely vote.
Some 21.9% supported the candidacy of Zelensky, Tymoshenko – 19.2% and Poroshenko – 14.8%.
The poll was conducted from January 19 through January 30, 2019. Some 10,000 persons aged 18 and older were questioned in all regions of Ukraine, except occupied Crimea and occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The margin of error of the survey does not exceed 1%.
Six hotels had received the hotel rating certificates issued by the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine as of October 22, 2018. The respective information is outlined in data from the register published by the ministry on October 22. The following hotels were placed to the register: two five-star hotels – Grand Admiral Club (Irpen, Kyiv region) and Kadorr Hotel Resort & Spa (Odesa), four-star Dnipro (Kyiv) and other hotels. The certificates of the hotels will expire on September 27, 2021. Grand Admiral Club was opened in 2002. The hotel has 64 rooms, including rooms in wooden cottages, four conference halls with a total area of 358 square meters and six banquet halls for up to 300 people. Kadorr Hotel Resort & Spa has been operating since 2015. The hotel has 25 rooms, as well as a conference hall with an area of 114 square meters, accommodating up to 90 people. Hotel Dnipro was established in 1994, the number of rooms includes 186 rooms, four banquet and three conference hall with a total area of 192 square meters and a negotiating room for 10 people.
As reported, the assignment of stars to hotels was suspended on January 1, 2018 due to the termination of the certification authority UkrSEPRO.

The top ten countries producing steel in June are as follows: China (80.196 million tonnes, a rise of 7.5%), Japan (8.76 million tonnes, an increase of 4.2%), India (8.739 million tonnes, an increase of 7.4%), the United States (6.847 million tonnes, a rise of 0.8%), South Korea (6.122 million tonnes, an increase of 3.2%), Russia (6.12 million tonnes, a rise of 8.9%), Germany (3.77 million tonnes, an increase of 2.6%), Turkey (3.043 million tonnes, an increase of 0.7%), Brazil (2.59 million tonnes, a fall of 2.2%), and Italy (2.135 million tonnes, a rise of 1.5%).
They are followed by Iran (2.08 million tonnes, an increase of 16.5% and, Ukraine (1.711 million tonnes, a rise of 1.5%). Overall, 64 countries produced 151.379 million tonnes of steel in June 2018, which is 5.8% more than in June 2017.
In January-June 2018, 64 countries produced 881.455 million tonnes of steel, which is 4.6% more than in January-June 2017.

In April growth in steelmaking compared to April 2017 was recorded in most of the top ten countries, except for Japan, Germany, and Turkey.
The top ten steel producers in April are as follows: China (76.698 million tonnes, a 4.8% growth), Japan (8.723 million tonnes, a 0.4% decline), India (8.692 million tonnes, a growth of 5.6%), the United States (6.930 million tonnes, an increase of 3.6%), Russia (6.030 million tonnes, an increase of 2.4%), South Korea (5.893 million tonnes, an increase of 7.1%), Germany (3.775 million tonnes, a 1.7% decline), Turkey (2.953 million tonnes, a 3.1% decline), Brazil (2.949 million tonnes, an increase of 1.9%), and Italy (2.061 million tonnes, an increase of 3.7%).
They are followed by Iran (1.950 million tonnes, an increase of 12.4%), Mexico (1.790 million tonnes, an increase of 13.7%), and Ukraine (1.721 million tonnes, an increase of 6%).
Some 64 countries in April 2018 produced 148.322 million tonnes of steel, which is 4.1% more than in April 2017.
