Agroprodservice PJSC has launched a new factory for canning and manufacturing semi-finished products from vegetables in the Velykoberezovytska community (Ternopil region), according to a press release posted on the community’s Facebook page.
According to the report, the new food factory, Babusi Marusi, will produce canned vegetables, pickles, and semi-finished products from vacuum-packed vegetables.
The company already employs 26 people. The plant plans to hire a permanent staff of about 50 employees, including 10 highly qualified specialists. In the future, it plans to introduce modern production automation technologies and enter new markets, including outside Ukraine.
“The development of the enterprise will create new jobs for the community, increase local budget revenues, and make the area more attractive to investors. This will help improve the standard of living and support infrastructure development,” the company said.
PJSC “Agroprodservice” was established in 1999.
As a diversified enterprise, it operates in the Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. It cultivates about 45,000 hectares of land. Agroprodservice owns grain elevators with a total storage capacity of 200,000 tons, a feed mill, and a seed plant.
The company is also engaged in poultry farming (2 million birds), cattle breeding (about 6,000 head, including 2,000 dairy cows) and pig breeding (60,000 head).
The ultimate beneficiaries of PAP “Agroprodservice” (Nastasiv, Ternopil region) are Tetiana Chaykivska (owns 70% of the company’s shares) — wife of People’s Deputy Ivan Chaykivsky, secretary of the Verkhovna Rada’s Agrarian Committee — and Andriy Baran (30%).

In January-May this year, Ukraine reduced exports of semi-finished carbon steel products in physical terms by 34.1% year-on-year to 506,071 thousand tons.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service (SCS) on Friday, exports of carbon steel semi-finished products fell by 34.7% to $248.953 million in monetary terms.
The main exports were mainly to Bulgaria (40.43% of supplies in monetary terms), Turkey (15.96%) and Poland (15.07%).
During the period, Ukraine imported 3,303 thousand tons of semi-finished products worth $2.687 million, mainly from the Czech Republic (72.47%), Italy (26.26%) and Romania (0.93%).
As reported, in 2024, Ukraine increased exports of carbon steel semi-finished products in physical terms by 56.7% compared to 2023 – up to 1 million 886.090 thousand tons, while revenue in monetary terms increased by 52.4% to $927.554 million. The main exports were made to Bulgaria (32.06% of supplies in monetary terms), Egypt (18.50%) and Turkey (11.14%).
In 2024, Ukraine imported 306 tons of semi-finished products worth $278 thousand from the Czech Republic (88.13%), Romania (7.19%), and Poland (2.88%), while in 2023 it imported 96 tons worth $172 thousand.
Ukraine in January-September of this year reduced the export of semi-finished products from carbon steel in kind by 68.9% compared to the same period last year – up to 1 million 665.909 thousand tons.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service (SCS), in monetary terms, the export of semi-finished products from carbon steel over this period decreased by 67% – to $1 billion 55.080 million.
The main exports were to Bulgaria (23.38% of deliveries in monetary terms), Italy (13.6%) and Poland (12092%).
In addition, Ukraine imported 5,540 thousand tons of such products in January-September, which is 65.4% less than in January-September 2021. In monetary terms, imports decreased by 64.7% – to $ 3.588 million. Imports were carried out from the Russian Federation (98.16% of supplies), Romania (1.23%) and China (0.59%).
As reported, Ukraine in 2021 reduced the export of semi-finished products from carbon steel in physical terms by 9.5% compared to 2020, to 6 million 776.44 thousand tons. In monetary terms, the export of semi-finished products from carbon steel increased by 48.8% over the year to $4 billion 93.02 million. The main exports were to Italy (30.90% of supplies in monetary terms), Turkey (12.77%) and the Republic (8.02%).
In addition, Ukraine imported 38.97 thousand tons of such products in 2021, which is 2.6 times more than in 2020. In monetary terms, imports increased by 3.9 times – up to $25.95 million. Imports were carried out from the Russian Federation (97.73% of deliveries), Turkey (1.15%) and Uzbekistan (1.08%).
Ukraine reduced the export of semi-finished products from carbon steel in quantity terms by 60.8% in January-June this year compared to the same period last year, to 1.427 million tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, in monetary terms, exports of carbon steel semi-finished products over this period decreased by 54.1%, to $900.84 million.
The products were mainly exported to Bulgaria (21.38% of supplies in monetary terms), Italy (15.59%) and Turkey (11.87%).
In addition, Ukraine imported 5,530 tonnes of such products in January-June, which is 47.2% less than in January-June 2021. In monetary terms, imports decreased by 45.2%, to $3.53 million. The products were mainly imported from the Russian Federation (99.72% of supplies) and China (0.25%).
Ukraine in January-July this year reduced exports of semi-finished products from carbon steel in quantity terms by 3.2% compared to the same period last year, to 4.177 million tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, during the specified period, exports of semi-finished products from carbon steel increased in monetary terms by 51.2%, to $2.344 billion.
The products were mainly exported to Italy (31.35% of supplies in monetary terms), Turkey (17.45%) and the Dominican Republic (8.31%).
In addition, Ukraine in January-July 2021 imported 12,806 tonnes of such products, which is 40.7% more than in January-July 2020. In monetary terms, imports increased 2.1 times, to $7.990 million. The products were mainly imported from the Russian Federation (94.04% of supplies), Uzbekistan (3.49%) and Turkey (2.38%).
