UKRAINIAN SUBSIDIARY OF RUSSIAN SBERBANK RENAMED

The Ukrainian subsidiary of Sberbank of Russia changed its name to JSC IR Bank (JSC International Reserve Bank), according to the unified public register of legal entities and sole proprietors. According to the Opendatabot, the bank was renamed on December 10.
As reported, Sberbank of Russia decided to change the name of its subsidiary Sberbank JSC (Kyiv) to JSC IR Bank, as evidenced by the decision of Sberbank of Russia on September 27, published on its website.
Earlier, with reference to the materials of the Ukrainian Patent Office, it was reported that Sberbank back in 2018-2019 filed applications for registration of the names of the International Reserve Bank (IRB) in Ukrainian, Russian and English, as well as related trademarks, with Ukrpatent.
In August 2021, the Supreme Court of Ukraine upheld the position of the state-owned Oschadbank (Kyiv) and prohibited the Ukrainian subsidiary of the largest Russian bank from using the Sberbank trademark in Ukraine.
Sberbank (earlier a subsidiary bank of Sberbank of Russia, before that it was bank NRB) was founded in 2001. Its sole owner is Sberbank of Russia.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of October 1, 2021, Sberbank ranked 10th in terms of total assets (UAH 58.397 billion) among 71 banks operating in Ukraine.

SUBSIDIARY OF SLOVAK LENTIMEX PLANS TO BUILD MULTIFUNCTIONAL COMPLEX FOR EUR 500 MLN IN KIEV

Lentimex Ukraine LLC (Kyiv), a subsidiary of Slovak Lentimex spol. s r.o., has completed the purchase of a 113.5 hectare land plot of the Rodovid Bank in Obolon district of Kiev, and plans to invest EUR 500 million in construction of a multifunctional space on its territory.
As Lentimex Ukraine told Interfax-Ukraine, on July 23, 2021, the company paid all its obligations under an auction and fully paid UAH 370 million in a letter of credit.
“It is planned to build a multifunctional space on the acquired plot with social, cultural and entertainment infrastructure according to European standards. This space will become a unique combination of recreation and a city,” the company said.
According to it, the total investment in the project will amount to more than EUR 500 million. Lentimex also intends to attract local partners to its team.
As reported, Lentimex Ukraine LLC won the Dutch auction of the Individuals’ Deposit Guarantee Fund for the sale of the Rodovid Bank land plot with a total area of 113.5 hectares, located in Obolon district of Kiev, with an offer of UAH 370 million. The intended purpose of this land plot is construction, as well as the operation and maintenance of residential buildings and social and cultural facilities. This asset was previously listed for sale. The starting price of the lot decreased from UAH 3.7 billion to UAH 370 million.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs, Lentimex Ukraine was created on June 18, 2021 with a charter capital of UAH 20,000. The main activity is the purchase/sale of own real estate.
Slovak company Lentimex spol. s r.o. was established in 1997. It is engaged in the sale of conveyor belts, rubber products and raw materials for the metallurgical, energy and chemical industries, as well as turnkey industrial construction.

PAYPAL SUBSIDIARY LAUNCHES SERVICE OF MONEY TRANSFER FROM U.S. TO UKRAINE

Xoom, a subsidiary structure of the PayPal payment service, has launched a service of money transfer from the United States to Ukraine, the initiator of the group on the introduction of PayPal in Ukraine, Ilia Kenigshtein, has said.
“Xoom is a money transfer system that PayPal bought in November 2015. Earlier Xoom was able to send money to 44 countries, Ukraine was not on this list. Starting from today, Xoom allows sending money from the U.S. to 130 countries, which include Ukraine,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
According to Kenigshtein, currently only one of the system services, Cash Pickup, which allows recipients in Ukraine to take remittance in one of the banks listed on the Xoom website.
Among the partner banks are Oschadbank, PrivatBank, Pravex-Bank, Ukrgasbank, Universal Bank, VS Bank, Accordbank, Industrialbank, Kredobank, Pivdenny Bank, Credit Dnipro, Vostok, Globus, IBOX Bank, as well as Ukrainian Financial Group.
“As for the limits: you can send up to $2,999 per day, but not more than $6,000 during 30 days, or expand the limits through the form on the website, providing additional documents,” the expert said.
The group’s initiator expects that in time PayPal, the parent company, will also provide services in Ukraine.
“In fact, this is a historical moment, confirming that sooner or later PayPal will come to Ukraine,” he noted.
As reported, the volume of private money transfers to Ukraine in January-May 2018 increased by 30% compared to the same period in 2017, to $4.5 billion.

HUTCHISON PORTS REGISTERS SUBSIDIARY TO WORK IN ODESA

Hutchison Ports (the parent holding is CK Hutchison Holdings) has registered subsidiary Hutchison Ports Ukraine (Odesa) for work in Ukraine. According to the single state register of legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and public associations, the charter capital of Hutchison Ports Ukraine is UAH 700,000, of which UAH 7,000 were contributed by Hutchison Ports Netherlander, UAH 693,000 by Hutchison Ports Turkey.
The company will deal with the transport processing of goods (the core business), as well as provide auxiliary services for water transport and carry out other supporting activities in the field of transport. Yevhenia Chirikova has been appointed head of the company since July 18, 2018. The company was registered on July 18 of this year.
As reported, in December 2017 the Infrastructure Ministry commission approved the application of Hutchison Ports to rent the territory of Chornomorsk port (Odesa region) in the area of berths Nos. 1-6.
