T.B.Fruit group of companies, one of the largest fruit and berry processors in Ukraine, has launched a pectin plant in Horodok (Lviv region) with investments of EUR25 million, founder of T.B.Fruit Group Taras Barschovsky has said.
“We’ve started production of pectin. The new plant that we had been building two years has been launched. The production capacity is 3,000 tonnes of apple pectin per year,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, 40,000-45,000 tonnes of citrus and apple pectin are produced in the world today.
“This ‘club’ of manufacturers consists of only seven companies. Among them are CP Kelco, Cargill, DuPont, H&Fox … And only two of them produce apple pectin. T.B.Fruit became the third producer of apple pectin in the world,” Barschovsky said.
According to him, investments in the plant are estimated at EUR25 million.

T.B.Fruit, one of the largest processors of fruits and berries in Ukraine, has begun the construction of the eighth plant of the group for processing fruits and berries in Brzostowiec (Poland), investment in which will amount to EUR45 million, founder of T.B.Fruit Taras Barschovsky has said. “The capacity for apple processing will be 300,000 tonnes, strawberries 10,000 tonnes, cherries 6,000 tonnes, raspberries 12,000 tonnes, currants some 7,000 tonnes per year. Production start is scheduled for July 2020,” he told the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
According to Barschovsky, investments in the plant are estimated at EUR45 million.

The group of companies was established in July 2011 after the consolidation of all the assets of businessman Taras Barschovsky.

Currently, according to Barschovsky, T.B.Fruit is represented in the market of concentrates and in the expensive segment of 100% juices. At the same time, the company plans to enter the market with cheaper products.
“Concerning concentrates, we occupy 23-25% of the European market and 8-11% of the world’s market. Regarding juices, in the Ukrainian market, Galicia is positioned in the expensive segment (100% natural juices), and this is 20% of the Ukrainian juice market. Our products account for 60-70%. We are now entering the market with a new product in the cheap category. This is the new trademark Svitanok, which is already on sale,” the founder of T.B.Fruit said.

T.B.Fruit, one of the largest processors of fruits and berries in Ukraine, intends to invest EUR3-5 million in the launch of a mandarin processing plant with a capacity of 50,000-60,000 tonnes in Georgia by December 2018. “Mandarins will be processed in Georgia and imported to Ukraine. In late autumn this year we’ll start production. This will be the processing of 50,000-60,000 tonnes of mandarins,” group founder Taras Barschovsky told Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, mandarin juice produced in Georgia will be bottled in Ukraine under the trademark Galicia.
The founder of the group pointed out that 35-40% of T.B.Fruit’s business is concentrated in Ukraine.
T.B.Fruit Group was established in July 2011, uniting all assets of Taras Barschovsky: Yablunevy Dar, T.B.Fruit Dwikozy fruit processing plant in Poland, Tank Trans Ukraine and Tank Trans Polska, which transport bulk cargo by road, and a fruit-growing complex, which includes apple-trees, cherry-trees, and strawberry and raspberry fields on 700 hectares.

T.B.Fruit, one of the largest processors of fruits and berries in Ukraine, has built a line for production of pectin at its own juice factory Yablunevy Dar LLC (Horodok, Lviv region). According to a report on the website of T.B.Fruit, the production capacity of the pectin line will be about 1,500 tonnes per year, while the total demand in the world is about 40,000 tonnes. “We have an opportunity to increase the production capacity to 3,000 tonnes if necessary,” Roman Zuzok, the vice president for sales and corporate development, said.
According to him, the company plans to become a member of the International Pectin Producers Association (IPPA). According to the latter, pectin consumption in the world market annually grows by 5%.
T.B.Fruit group of companies was established in July 2011 after the merger of all the assets of businessman Taras Barschovsky, namely Yablunevy Dar, the Polish fruit processing factories T.B.Fruit Dwikozy and T.B.Fruit Annopol, Tank Trans Ukraine LLC and Tank Trans Polska, engaged in domestic and international transportation of liquid cargo by road tankers, as well as the horticultural complex T.B. Sad (700 hectares of apple, cherry, strawberry and raspberry gardens).
T.B.Fruit owns eight plants for production of juice not from concentrate, fruit purees and frozen fruits and vegetables in Ukraine, Moldova, and Poland. In Ukraine, T.B.Fruit produces juice under the Galicia trademark.
