GERMAN RETAILER NEW YORKER OPENS STORE IN RIVER MALL TRADE CENTER IN DARNYTSKY DISTRICT OF KYIV

New Yorker Ukraine LLC (Kyiv), which is developing the German clothing and footwear network New Yorker in Ukraine, opens a store in the River Mall trade center at 12 Dniprovska Esplanade in Darnytsky district of Kyiv, thereby expanding the Ukrainian network to ten stores.
According to the press service of the mall, the store will be located on the second floor of the facility and will occupy 1,100 square meters.
The outlet will be the fourth one in Kyiv and the tenth one in Ukraine.
The New Yorker network has been developing in Ukraine since 2011.
According to the company’s website, as of August 22, 2019, the chain had nine stores in Kyiv, Odesa, Lviv, Kharkiv, Kryvy Rih, and Sumy. The New Yorker international chain has more than 1,000 stores in 40 countries.
Ukraine’s banks almost quadruple net profit in Jan-July 2019
KYIV. Aug 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Solvent banks in Ukraine in January-July 2019 received UAH 36.7 billion in net profit, which is 3.7 times more than in the same period in 2018, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has said.
According to its data, the income of banks this year increased by 30%, to UAH 141.4 billion, while expenses by 6%, to UAH 104.7 billion.
Based on the previously released data, in July, the net profit of Ukrainian banks grew by 3.8 times, to UAH 5.69 billion: revenues increased by 23.1%, to UAH 20.34 billion, while expenses decreased by 2.5%, to UAH 14.65 billion.
The main factors in the growth of bank profit are the increase in net interest income by 19%, to UAH 46.3 billion, the growth in net commission income by 16%, to UAH 24.7 billion, a positive result from revaluation and from sale and purchase operations (UAH 10.6 billion), a decrease in deductions for reserves to UAH 6.3 billion against UAH 11.6 billion last year.
The NBU expects the sector returns to remain high in 2019.
As reported, in 2018, the banking system’s profit reached a historic high of UAH 21.7 billion.

FORA OPENS CHAIN’S LARGEST STORE IN CHERRY MALL TRADE CENTER IN VYSHNEVE

Fozzy Group has opened a new supermarket Fora with an area of 1,500 square meters in the Cherry Mall trade and entertainment center (Vyshneve, Kyiv-Sviatoshynsky district of Kyiv region), expanding the network to 244 objects.
“One of the main anchor tenants, the modern Fora supermarket, has opened in the new Cherry Mall trade center. The operator is located on the ground floor of the shopping center on an area of about 1,500 square meters,” the press service of UTG, the exclusive agent for leasing retail space in Cherry Mall, said.
The assortment of the store includes 5,000 commodity items. In addition to six self-service cash desks, it has five regular cash desks and two express cash desks.
The retailer’s press service told the Interfax-Ukraine agency, the outlet is the largest one in the Fora chain. It became the 244th network object in Ukraine and the 221st one in Kyiv region.
According to UTG, the mall is completing internal repairs on leased space and is preparing for the grand opening of the mall. The total area of Cherry Mall will be 18,000 square meters, rental some 15,000 square meters, while 90% of the space has already been leased.
According to the company’s estimates, attendance at Cherry Mall in the first year will be about 15,000-18,000 people a day with the prospect of further growth to 20,000 people.

ARAKS GROUP WILL OPEN 15,000 SQUARE METERS FURNITURE TRADE CENTER NEAR KYIV

Araks Group of Companies (Kyiv) in the end of September will open a new furniture trade center with a total square of 15,000 square meters in the village of Khodosivka of Kyiv region, a group’s press service reported. “A decision to open a new trade center and to develop Araks furniture network is carefully worded. We engross our business and we’re glad to cooperate with the new brands, which will be displayed at the new furniture center,” Araks group quotes one of its shareholders Harush Antonian as saying on Monday.
According to a press release, the new three-storey shopping center, 25 kilometers away from Kyiv, will consist of the shops with household goods: furniture, kitchen, lighting, floor coating, textile, decoration and others. Armenian classicism combined with modernistic forms is at the bottom of the architecture, the company said.
The first Araks furniture trade center with a square of 27,000 square meters at 110 Kiltseva Street opened in 2009.
In public cadastral map, Kyiv-based Business-Techno Plaza LLC is owner of the land plot with a square of three hectares on which the center was built.

NEW CINEMA OF PLANETA KINO NETWORK TO OPEN IN KYIV’S RIVER MALL TRADE CENTER

The opening of a new cinema of the Planeta Kino network in the River Mall shopping and entertainment center on Dniprovska Embankment in Kyiv is scheduled for August 1, Dmytro Derkach, the co-owner of the chain, said on Facebook. “Many of you ask me when is the opening in River Mall. Now I can answer – in a week, on August 1 (if no force majeure happens). Our cinema and the entire mall were ready to open for almost a month, but state agencies did not issue the necessary documents. Yesterday we received everything,” Derkach said.
He told Interfax-Ukraine the cinema will be the first facility to open in River Mall. “Most likely, we will be the only one who will open in the mall, stores will open from August 8,” he said.
Triumph Media Group LLC is developing the Planeta Kino network of cinemas. According to the unified state register, the owner of the company is Moviemax Limited (Cyprus), the ultimate beneficiaries are Dmytro Derkach and Andriy Shpyh. The charter capital is UAH 43 million.
The Planeta Kino network as of July-2019 had seven cinemas in Kyiv, Odesa, Lviv, Kharkiv, and Sumy. This year it is planned to open new cinemas in the Apollo shopping center (Dnipro), the River Mall shopping center and the Ocean Mall trade center (Kyiv).

ADIDAS-UKRAINE TO OPEN STORES AT RIVER MALL TRADE CENTER IN DARNYTSKY DISTRICT IN KYIV

Adidas-Ukraine has rented 600 square meters of space for two stores in the River Mall shopping and entertainment center being under construction in Darnytsky district in Kyiv.
The press service of the River Mall trade and entertainment center told the Interfax-Ukraine news agency the Adidas shop will be almost 412 square meters, the Reebok store will occupy 186 square meters.
Both stores will open in new concepts for Ukraine: the design of the Adidas store will be in accordance with the concept of Stadium, and Reebok in the FitHib 2.0. concept that is new for Europe.
The facilities will be located on the second floor of the River Mall shopping center in the area of sporting goods and panoramic elevators.
“The range of goods in the stores will include modern sportswear for professional sports and outdoor activities, a total of more than 300 items,” the company said.
Adidas-Ukraine was founded in 1996. It is engaged in the sale of goods for sports.
The owner of the company is Adidas AG (Germany).
The opening of the River Mall trade enter is scheduled for May 2019. The anchor tenants will be Inditex Group stores, a Silpo supermarket chain, a Planeta Kino cinema with IMAX, and a Papashon entertainment center. The specifics of the project will be a food court and an event area with an open terrace and a view of the Dnipro River.

TAS GROUP BUYS PART OF ARENA CITY TRADE CENTER IN KYIV

Sergiy Tigipko’s TAS group of companies has bought part of the Arena City retail and office center at 1-3/2a Baseina Street in Kyiv. According to the NV Business edition, with reference to several sources, the group of Tigipko acquired the center with an area of 14,000 square meters for $13-15 million. The deal did not include several premises on the ground floor that were previously sold.
According to the source, Dmytro Firtash’ Group D, which owned the asset, put it up for sale in 2018 at the initial price of about $20 million.
According to Olha Nasonova, the director general of Restaurant Consulting company, rental rates for offices in Arena City can reach $25-30 per square meter, for food courts from $50 per square meter.
