The international bus carrier Ecolines, which includes the Ukrainian carrier Autolux, is resuming trips from Kyiv to Gdansk and Torun (Poland) from June 25.
According to the company’s website, it is also planned to resume trips from Kyiv to Zielona Gora from July 1.
As previously reported, Ecolines launched traffic from Kyiv to Wroclaw on June 22, and from Kyiv and Odesa to Minsk on June 25.
JSC Ukrzaliznytsia is technically ready for the resumption of passenger traffic until a predetermined date (from June 1, 2020), however, the launch date for passenger traffic on railway transport has not yet been changed.
Ukrzaliznytsia is technically ready to start passenger transporting, however, the government resolution regulates the date of June 1. The final decision will be made in the near future, based on the epidemic indicators of the regions and the decisions of the commissions on anthropogenic and environmental safety and emergency situations,” the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure told Interfax-Ukraine.
As the agency was informed by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, according to Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine resolution No. 392 dated May 20, 2020, after the decision of the regional commissions on anthropogenic and environmental safety and emergency situations on easing anti-epidemic measures in regions, the company will appoint trains in these regions, and will start selling tickets.
The Infrastructure Ministry confirmed that the sale of train tickets can be started in the near future in those regions where there will be a positive decision on easing anti-epidemic measures.
The ministry said that they plan to follow the previously developed algorithm for launching railway transportation in several stages, namely, from June 1, running up to 50% of suburban electric trains during rush hours, launching 42 pairs of trains of Intercity and Night Express categories. At the second stage, it is planned to launch all suburban electric trains during daylight hours and all passenger trains except seasonal ones. At the third stage, it is proposed to open an international railway service, as well as seasonal trains.
The airports of Ukraine in January-February 2020, according to recent data, served 3.237 million passengers, which is 15% more than in the same period in 2019.
According to the website of the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine, passenger flow of Ukrainian airports on international routes during the indicated period rose by 16.6%, to 1.913 million people.
According to statistics from the agency, in January-February 2020 Ukrainian airlines served 1.547 million people, which is 3.1% more than in the same period in 2019. Of these, 1.385 million passengers were transported in international traffic (an increase of 3% compared to January-February 2019).
At the same time, for the two months of 2020, Ukrainian airlines operated 12,700 commercial flights (a decrease of 2.9%), including 10,500 international flights (a decrease of 2.6%).
As reported, in 2019 Ukrainian airports served 24.337 million passengers, which is 18.5% more than in 2018.
Kharkiv International Airport in February 2020 increased passenger traffic by 57% compared to the same period in 2019, to 103,400 people.
According to the airport’s Facebook page, the total number of departures was 421.
The most popular destinations were Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt), Istanbul (Turkey), Boryspil (Kyiv), Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk, Katowice, Poznan, Wroclaw (all Poland), Vienna (Austria).
As reported, the passenger flow of Kharkiv International Airport in 2019 increased by 40% compared to the same period in 2018, to 1.3 million people.
Kharkiv airport has a runway 2,500 meters long and 50 meters wide. Two passenger terminals with a capacity of 100 and 650 people are located on its territory.
Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv) in 2019 increased passenger traffic by 21.1% compared to 2018, to 15.260 million people.The press service of the enterprise told Interfax-Ukraine that the figure on international flights over the indicated period amounted to 14.163 million people (an increase of 22.2%), on domestic some 1.096 million (an increase of 8.3%).The number of flights in 2019 amounted to 110,660 for arrival/departure, which is 14.2% more than in 2018, in particular 97,428 international flights (16.1% more), and 13,232 domestic flights (1.4% more).In December 2019, passenger flow at Boryspil airport amounted to 1.053 million people, which is 12.6% more than in December 2018. At the same time, passenger traffic on international flights amounted to 973,100 people (13.8% more), and on domestic flights some 80,600 (0.2% more).The number of flights in December 2019 amounted to 7,800 for arrival/departure, which is 1.2% more than in the same period in 2018, including 6,865 (3.5% more) international flights, and 935 domestic flights (12.8% less).
Passenger traffic at Lviv International Airport in 2019 amounted to 2.217 million people, which is 38.8% more than in 2018, the company’s press service said on Facebook.
The number of flights in 2019 reached 18,963 (16,180 international and 2,783 domestic), which is 22.9% more than in 2018.
In December 2019, some 171,600 passengers used the airport services (151,400 on international flights, 20,200 on domestic flights), which is 32.4% more than in December 2018. At the same time, the number of flights last month increased by 10.9%, to 1,423 (1,178 international and 245 domestic).
As reported, Lviv Airport in 2018 increased passenger traffic by 48% compared to 2017, to 1.598 million people.
Lviv International Airport is located 6 km south of the city center.
